A couple weeks back, a number of us (that is several Pinnacle personnel, a few of our Ace licensees, and plenty of Savage Worlds fans) came together in Round Rock, TX for ChupacabraCon VI!
Highlights of this fantastic, fun, and extremely friendly convention included the Friday night Audience Participation Celebrity Charity Deadlands Game run by “Marshal” Shane Hensley (an archived stream of that event is available here), the Doomtown – Twilight Protocol event featuring the cast of Saving Throw’s WildCards, the annual East Texas University Tailgate Party (and yes, everyone did sing the ETU Fight Song), and ChupacabraCon’s always bustling Savage Saturday Night.
If you can make it down to Round Rock, TX, we hope you’ll consider attending Chupacabracon VII in 2020!
Until next year, pardners!
If you’re attending ChupacabraCon VI in Round Rock, TX this weekend (May 3-5), don’t be surprised if you hear people cheering about “raises,” spot Bennies of all shapes, sizes, and colors gracing game tables, or find yourself participating in a phenomenal Savage Saturday Night, because Savage Worlds is taking Chupa by storm with dozens of game sessions, presentations, special events, and even the traditional East Texas University Tailgate Party!

This weekend, get thyself to the Hilton Charlotte University Place in Charlotte, North Carolina for MACE 2018!
Not only are there a number of Savage Worlds games on this year’s jam-packed event schedule (including ETU, Deadlands, Flash Gordon™, Rippers Resurrected, and Rifts®), MACE is also home to an always fantastic Savage Saturday Night (picture a single room buzzing with Savage Worlds games).
On top of all that, our own Clint Black (Savage Worlds Core Rules Brand Manager) will be sliding behind the GM screen on Friday night to run his meat grindin’ Arena of Death using updated rules from the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (now on Kickstarter):
“Grab a Death Certificate…um, character sheet and jump into the meat grinder!
The Savage Worlds Brand Manager and Black Judge himself, Clint Black, is previewing the newest edition of the game in the most Savage way possible. For four straight hours he will kill characters in the most gruesome ways imaginable (and possibly a few never imagined before). Six players enter and when one dies, a new player can jump in their place up to the last 15 minutes of the game. Playing only requires a $1 donation…for a character with no Bennies! For a $5 donation, the character enters with one Benny or, only when first entering the game, they can start with the maximum of 5 Bennies for just $20! During the game, players can purchase up to the five maximum Bennies but each costs $5. On top of that, spectators can `Grease the Grinder!` Every $5 donated adds +1d6 to the damage one character takes up to a maximum of +4d6 for $20.”
Visit the MACE website for more information and we hope to see you there!
This weekend (March 9th-11th), catch up with Jodi Black (Chief Operations Officer and Managing Editor for Pinnacle Entertainment Group) and Clint Black (Savage Worlds Core Rules Brand Manager) along with a number of other Savages, for MACE West 2018 in Asheville, North Carolina.
Not only will Clint be running TWO sessions of The Savage World of Flash Gordon™ (both of which sold out in a matter of minutes—though spectators are welcome by decree of Emperor Ming), the event schedule is positively brimming with Savage Worlds games and yes, there will be a Savage Saturday Night there, as well!
Visit the MACE West website to learn more and… “Hail Ming!”

We can’t really say enough good things about MACE 2013 this last weekend!
Savage Saturday Night was a blast, and the special Savage Worlds Tenth Anniversary Party hosted by MACE and Beautiful Brains Books & Games was a cupcake-filled spectacular! The range of games—the variety of applications you, our fans, find for Savage Worlds—continues to amaze us.
But don’t just listen to me yammer on about it. Check out the photos of “Chaos” Steve Todd’s highly-acclaimed Weird Wars Rome game. Or watch our Facebook or Google+ pages for more photos. Or visit the Pinnacle Forums for a general MACE follow-up discussion!
We all had a great time, and we look forward to seeing you at more conventions in the coming year!
Will we be seeing you at MACE 2013 this weekend? You’re not going to want to miss it!
Help us celebrate Savage World’s tenth anniversary with a Savage Saturday Night featuring a special “post-party” at midnight hosted by MACE and Beautiful Brains Books & Games. With this many Pinnacle staffers, it’s a sight to be seen! Watch for:
We’ll see you there! [With so many of us working on a cooperative Notice check, we almost can’t help it!]
Now’s the time to plan ahead for what may be the highest concentration of Pinnacle staffers in a very long time—MACE 2013! Don’t believe me? Here’s a list:
We’ll be all over the place, but especially at Savage Saturday Night! In honor of Savage Worlds’ tenth anniversary, MACE and Beautiful Brains Books & Games will be hosting a special “post-party” at midnight. I hear there’ll be cake, soda, laughter, reminiscing, and the ritual watching-Steve-fall-asleep—all things not to miss!
See you there!
* I have no doubt she’ll tell me that should be “Force With Which to Be Reckoned”!
