Savage Foes of Nehwon is now available for immediate PDF purchase and print preorder! They say there’s someone for everyone—with over 100 characters from the Fritz Lieber’s classic Lankhmar stories and fifty creature entries, that’s definitely true in Lankhmar!
You also get three complete Savage Tales ready to go with the materials in Savage Foes of Nehwon as well as a complete Adventure Generator for the world of Nehwon. Never be without an adventure again!
The summer of sword-and-sorcery isn’t finished yet, though! Keep watching for the Lankhmar GM’s Screen and a full-fledged adventure, The Eyes of Goro’mosh, coming in July.
If you’ve already preordered Savage Foes of Nehwon, it should already be in your downloads section on the Pinnacle Web Store, ready for you to grab at your leisure.
You can still get a Lankhmar Bundle for reduced shipping costs or update a prior bundle order with an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org! The mean streets of Lankhmar aren’t likely to let you keep your money, so let us help you while we can.
Just last week, The Sixth Gun RPG Kickstarter met several stretch goals—a print showcasing the cast image, Cards of the Six, and Creature Features for The Great Wyrms and Griselda the Grey Witch. This week, we’ve hit [cue the suspenseful music] The Sixth Goal*—that’s right, we’ve added a set of Sixth Gun Archetypes and Sixth Gun Figure Flats: Villains + Heroes! There’s only one left right now…that we’re admitting to, anyway! Be sure to drop by the The Sixth Gun RPG Kickstarter to get a full list of the goals, backer options, and details.
There are also adventures available right now. That’s right folks, no waiting. You can get your own free copy of The Sixth Gun: The One-Hand Gang from DriveThruRPG or from the Pinnacle Web Store (right by the free and informative Triptych o’ Trouble on the Sixth Gun RPG page).
Maybe all that is why the The Sixth Gun RPG Kickstarter is now a Kickstarter Staff Pick! Or maybe it’s just because it’s sooo darned cool—I’m torn.
And if you’re thinking about joining in the game that Cullen himself is running at Gen Con, you might want to check out his game promise video. It sounds like a good time destined to end in tears, gunfire, and blood!
Don’t go into the world of the Sixth Gun RPG alone—be sure to bring your friends with you. Be sure to tell ’em about it today!
* I fully understand the Sixth Goal is not as impressive as the Sixth Gun, but it still sounds kind of cool, right? C’mon—humor me on this one.
Origins is now behind us, and Gen Con is coming up fast. Be sure to mark your con-calendars with a few important seminar times!
- PEG Seminar—3:00 pm Saturday, Crowne Plaza Grand Central Ballroom A/B
Come on in and sit a spell with the fine folks here at Pinnacle in the swankified new space con organizers gave us! Catch up with what we’ve been up to, find out secrets of what’s coming next, and see how everything is going. History suggests that Shane will let at least a few things slip that he shouldn’t, so be sure to get a front row seat!
- Savage Worlds Licensee Seminar—4:00 pm Saturday, Crowne Plaza Victoria Station A/B
That’s right, the licensees get their own time this year. Just head over to Victoria Station (where the PEG seminar has been in recent years) to stick around and see what all Savage Worlds goodness is coming your way from all our gaming friends and allies.
Oh, and there’s all that Savage Worlds gaming. Be sure to check the program for the games you want, and be sure to let our own Jodi Black know what games you’re running. And, of course, don’t forget the amazing Sixth Gun RPG game run by Cullen himself on Thursday evening at 4+ Star Rock Bottom Brewery—check the Sixth Gun RPG Kickstarter for full details.
See you in Indy!
We’re pleased to announce that we will be developing Rifts for Savage Worlds! We’re early in the process now, but Shane* says we anticipate a core setting book in time for Christmas.
Rifts is a classic muti-genre post-apocalypse game with elements of everything from fantasy and mythology on through cyberpunk and mecha, the realization of Kevin Siembieda’s vision of a game with everything for everyone.
“I’m really excited to see what Rifts will look like in the Savage Worlds system,” said Siembieda. “The Savage fans are great folks, and I think Rifts is going to be an amazing amount of fun for them, letting them explore all the possibilities of both the system and the setting.”
Be sure to keep up with the Pinnacle news for more information as it becomes available!
* You know, leaky ol’ Shane who likes to pass out target dates, which just gives me hives. If it weren’t for him, I might never admit to anything! — Joel
The Dead Men Walking Kickstarter duo has begun! Even now, you should feel the clammy hand of dread stretching your way. Don’t be shy—reach out and give it a shake! Join us for a walk on the dead side as we kick off two very different—but closely linked—projects that start us on the road for the 20th anniversary of Deadlands in 2016!
Stone, an implacable killer with a taste for heroes, is coming full force in the Stone and a Hard Place Kickstarter. Bring all the danger of the third Deadlands Plot Point Campaign to “life” with your support, and get more than you rightly bargained for. That’s right, amigo, Stone and a Hard Place is a sourcebook for the Southwest, detailing strange locales, creepy characters, carnivorous critters, and Setting Rules to highlight Death’s grip on the land. There’s also new material for your favorite Harrowed heroes and any hexslingers you got ridin’ the trail beside you—after all, in a place this hungry for souls, you shouldn’t let anybody ride behind you…. Check it out today!
The Cackler is an ancient Harrowed, walking the earth in undeath since before the age of the Weird West was upon us, and The Cackler graphic novel Kickstarter will let us tell his tale at last! The Cackler seeks a very particular blood relative for a mysterious and nefarious ritual that could change the world of Deadlands forever, a ritual so threatening that the Texas Rangers and the Agency have invoked the Twilight Protocol in a united state against his success. Can Morgan Lash, a former Wichita Witch, save the Cackler’s quarry—who just happens to be her own sister? There’s only one way to know!
See if you can figure out the Cackler’s secret identity before the end of the tale. We’ve been putting out clues for twenty years (with the best ones in The Black Circle for the original Deadlands Classic), but everything you need is retold right in the graphic novel. You’re never too late to the party to be touched by evil!
There are some very limited Kickstarter rewards for select backers for both Stone and a Hard Place and The Cackler graphic novel, so don’t let the weeds sprout under your feet, partner. Check ’em out as soon as you can!
Want to find one of us at a convention near you? You’re in luck—we’ve updated the Pinnacle Conventions page with all new information for 2015! You don’t need a crystal ball for your prognostications, just a web browser and this link!
If you’re looking for love in all the con places, check out where we’ll be for Valentine’s Day this year. John Goff, Sara Quinn, and Brendan Quinn will all be at RadCon in Pasco, Washington, February 13-15, while Michael Ysker is shivering at Con of the North in Plymouth, Minnesota. Randy Mosiondz will be working the long weekend, February 13-16, at DunDraCon in San Ramon, California.
Now that you see how that schedule works, be sure to check for us near you for the rest of the year. Keep your eyes open, too—the Pinnacle Conventions page will be updated as the year goes on, and we reserve the right to magically appear without warning. You might want to look behind you right now…
And speaking of cruel jokes, this one’s on us—you might notice none of us are making it to GenghisCon. The Rocky Mountain Savages are putting on an amazing gaming display with 29 GMs running 65 unique scenarios at over 80 tables with more than 500 gamer seats of Savage Worlds available, and we’re going to miss it. They’ve got 4 tables on Con Junior, 11 tables of their Weird Wars Rome Twilight Legion shared campaign, Deadlands, East Texas University, Shaintar, and a smattering of home-brew settings, and we’re going to miss it. There are going to be 15 tables for Savage Saturday Night, and…well, you know. So, if you’re anywhere close, you should be sure to turn out and catch the Savage Worlds extravaganza that’s going to be GenghisCon in Denver, February 12-15.
All of us at Pinnacle sincerely hope that you’ve had a great individual year. For those of you who have, congratulations and keep it up! For those of you who haven’t, here’s hoping that the new year brings you better tidings.
Looking back on the year, so much of the bad news and tragedy seemed to have a similar undercurrent—division. And even though many of you probably have nightmares about learning long division, that’s now what I’m talking about. Class divisions, racial divisions, religious divisions—it seemed every cloud had an us-vs-them lining.
This year, make a small gesture to make the world a better place. Bridge a gap. Meet someone new. Try a new setting. Play a game you’ve made fun of in the past but never really gave a fair shake. Will we turn the earth into a Savage Worlds utopia? To be honest, probably not. But we might be able to make our individual little corners of the world better places, with a little more fun and a few more friends. And if we all do that, year after year? Well, it certainly can’t hurt, can it?
To all of you and yours, we wish the very best for a new year filled with health, hope, and happiness!
The jungle planet Leviathan teems with mammoth lacerauns—savage beasts of enormous size and cunning, potential trophies unmatched in other star systems. Left intentionally undeveloped beyond a few tourist-oriented settlements, Leviathan still draws more than just adventure-seeking hunters. Researchers and those who would see the world left completely untouched are both willing to turn the tables on any would-be hunters.
Leviathan is a setting book for The Last Parsec. It contains new locations and characters for the planetary system, new Setting Rules for Leviathan’s natural dangers, a Plot Point Campaign, Savage Tales, and a host of new creatures–especially the lacerauns.
The Leviathan PDF is available immediately, but the printed versions of the book are still on the Last Parsec Preorder Page! You can still preorder the whole Last Parsec line-up, including adventures, the GM Screen, tokens, the two other system books (Eris Beta-V and Scientorum, each with its own Plot Point Campaign), and custom dice, Bennies, and miniatures! Check it out today.
The Pony Express was a fantastic advance in getting news into and out of the Weird West. Then things noticed a steady supply of food traveling overland, and they even started eating the ponies! It’s probably easiest and safest to keep your eyes on this space for all the upcoming Deadlands news—and there’s a few ponies’ worth a-comin’, partner.
You’ll be getting more details about the upcoming release for Stone and a Hard Place, the third Plot Point Campaign that puts you face-first into the spaghetti Western roots of Deadlands and up close and personal with the hardest of hard-nose killers—Stone.
For all you literary types, keep a lookout for news about the upcoming Ghostwalkers, the Tor novel by Jonathan Maberry! That’s right, the bonafide New York Times Bestselling author has taken a walk on the Weird side, and we’ll be giving you some sneak peeks soon.
And, possibly most satisfyingly, you’ll hear something next week that’ll scratch a most peculiar itch that some of you have, and might have had for decades now. Just remember, scratching isn’t always advised…
The Horrors of East Texas University Figure Flats collection brings a set of 50 monsters, felons, miscreants, and demons to your happy little corner of the ETU campus! The characters in your ETU games have been lonely long enough—it’s time you introduced someone to play with them…
Horrors of East Texas University joins the existing Heroes of East Texas University Figure Flats and all the other great East Texas University and Degrees of Horror material just waiting to be given a good home. For less than ten bucks, it’s a bargain!
Of course, if you backed the ETU/DOH Kickstarter, you could download these a few days ago and do so for free. Be sure to catch those Kickstarter opportunities when they come around, friends and neighbors!
