Join Us at MACE This Weekend!
We all know how it goes. You’re sitting there, peacefully minding your own business, and the voices start up in the back of your head. “Join us,” they say, calmly and quietly—at first. Then they become a tad more insistent. In time, the constant “join us” chorus becomes simply too loud to ignore and incredibly hard to deny. So, really, why fight it?
Come see us this weekend at MACE in Charlotte, North Carolina. Clint Black will be there running games, Jodi Black will be there running the Beautiful Brains Books & Games booth, and Joel Kinstle will be there…well, we know how likely you are to catch him actually running…
But there’s more than just us. Savage Saturday Night has nearly a dozen games already, and Clint will be running two brand new games that nobody has ever played before! And all of the MACE conventions are always a good time.
So, seriously. Join us.
Pinnacle Coming to Aethercon, RinCon, Great Falls, and MACE!
Looking for the convention-sized fun of meeting the Pinnacle crowd without the travel? Join us this weekend for a roundtable discussion with the creators from Pinnacle Entertainment Group* Saturday, October 11, 2:00 pm ET. This event is being sponsored by Aethercon (coming in November) and will be available later as a podcast episode if you miss it live.
Not quite willing to forgo the fun of meeting us face-to-face? You can catch John Goff at the Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous in Great Falls, Montana. This is your chance to talk to John away from the rest of us, where he might be more willing to spill secrets and dish the juicy gossip! Don’t miss it.
If you’re a little more southerly this weekend, drop by RinCon in Tucson, Arizona. You can catch Pinnacle founder, president, and jefe-muy-mucho** Shane Hensley. In fact, he’s a featured RinCon Guest of Honor! If you’re in the area, drop by and say “Hi.”
And in the not-as-far-as-it-once-was future, you can find a bunch of us at MACE in Charlotte, North Carolina, November 7-9. But there’ll be more on that later.***
* Yes, that’s us, but who doesn’t like to talk about themselves in the third person now and again? “Not he,” says I!
** And a shout goes out to my Spanish teachers, who are probably now embarrassed to be associated with me.
*** I would like to dedicate this paragraph of two lonely sentences that both start with conjunctions to all my old English teachers who would shake their heads in disappointment if they were reading right now. To you! — Joel
Pinnacle Convention Bits Round-Up
Are you ready for a really big convention announcement? Oh, that’s unfortunate—but I do have a few medium-sized convention-related bits for you, and I hope that satisfies your cravings.
Dragon Con was a blast. Savage Worlds products were flying out of the Beautiful Brains Books and Games booth. Clint and Jodi Black were on several well-received panels, and gaming in general and Savage Worlds in particular continue to grow every year. We had eight full tables at Savage Sunday Night, and a very good time was had. It’s always nice to catch up with folks you only see at the conventions, but this time I* got to meet Kristian Serrano (who I’ve only known electronically) in the flesh. Join us all there next year!
The legacy of Gen Con continues. The Misdirected Mark’s Gen Con Interviews, Part Two is now available. If you weren’t there, it’ll be like you were. If you were there, it’ll be like you still are (which is probably kind of creepy, really).
Plans are afoot for the annual Savage Worlds invasion at MACE. Their event submission is open now, and lots of talk at Dragon Con was about what we were all planning on running at MACE. Watch this space for more details as they come, and watch MACE November 7-9 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to catch at least Jodi and Clint Black and Joel Kinstle.**
There’s going to be some Savage Worlds gaming at Chupacabracon—at least two! While I’m sure there will be much more than that, both Shane Hensley and Clint Black are planning on attending. Shane will be running an East Texas University adventure called The Thing at Wilson’s Quarry which may finally dissuade college students from swimming in quarries for good. Clint will be treating people to his Sci-Fi original homage, Arctigator vs Crocosharkasaurus, with survival and better acting gigs both unlikely. Go ahead and mark your calendars for January 9-11, 2015 and catch them in Austin, Texas. You’ll be happier (and more likely to have some barbecue) if you do.
* Remember, if you see “I” in the updates, it’s me, Joel Kinstle. Pinnacle does not speak in some weird anti-royal non-we singular pronoun.
** Yes, that’s me again, but in the third person this time. All of you who have been victims of my editorial wrath may now feel smug for my lack of consistency.
Find Us at Game Storm, MACE West, and BBE Con!
It may be early, but we’re moving into that grand time of year we all know and love—convention season!
Game Storm in Portland (Oregon, not Maine or cement) will be hosting a one-two punch of Pinnacle excitement on March 20-23. You’ll get to see our own head honcho Shane Lacy Hensley and the marginally-elusive, always-interesting John Goff! Don’t let this chance pass you by. If you’ve got the chance to turn out, be sure to stop by!
If you’re on the other side of the country, be sure to catch Clint Black, Jodi Black, and Joel Kinstle at MACE West in Asheville, North Carolina, March 21-23. We’re always excited to attend the highly gaming-focused MACE family of conventions, and I’m sure you will be, too! Catch us there and let me know if I’m wrong [which, really, never happens…].
If those options aren’t European enough for you, you’re in luck! You can also catch Shane at BBE Con in Lyon, France on April 19. If you’re a French speaker or can operate a web translator, check out BBE Con web site for more information.
MACE a Smashing Success for Pinnacle!
We can’t really say enough good things about MACE 2013 this last weekend!
Savage Saturday Night was a blast, and the special Savage Worlds Tenth Anniversary Party hosted by MACE and Beautiful Brains Books & Games was a cupcake-filled spectacular! The range of games—the variety of applications you, our fans, find for Savage Worlds—continues to amaze us.
But don’t just listen to me yammer on about it. Check out the photos of “Chaos” Steve Todd’s highly-acclaimed Weird Wars Rome game. Or watch our Facebook or Google+ pages for more photos. Or visit the Pinnacle Forums for a general MACE follow-up discussion!
We all had a great time, and we look forward to seeing you at more conventions in the coming year!
Join Pinnacle at MACE This Weekend!
Will we be seeing you at MACE 2013 this weekend? You’re not going to want to miss it!
Help us celebrate Savage World’s tenth anniversary with a Savage Saturday Night featuring a special “post-party” at midnight hosted by MACE and Beautiful Brains Books & Games. With this many Pinnacle staffers, it’s a sight to be seen! Watch for:
We’ll see you there! [With so many of us working on a cooperative Notice check, we almost can’t help it!]
Celebrate 10 Years of Savage Worlds at MACE!
Now’s the time to plan ahead for what may be the highest concentration of Pinnacle staffers in a very long time—MACE 2013! Don’t believe me? Here’s a list:
We’ll be all over the place, but especially at Savage Saturday Night! In honor of Savage Worlds’ tenth anniversary, MACE and Beautiful Brains Books & Games will be hosting a special “post-party” at midnight. I hear there’ll be cake, soda, laughter, reminiscing, and the ritual watching-Steve-fall-asleep—all things not to miss!
See you there!
* I have no doubt she’ll tell me that should be “Force With Which to Be Reckoned”!
See Shane, Clint, Goff, Cheyenne, and Rock City!
As exciting as it might be, you won’t be seeing them all in the same place any time soon.
You still have time to catch Shane Hensley and Clint Black at MACE 2012, November 2-4, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both Shane and Clint will be running games, and Beautiful Brains Books & Games will give away the last two slots in Shane’s special charity Deadlands Noir games during their Thursday Night Chat this week. There’s also more Savage Worlds games than you can shake a stick at, a big ol’ Savage Saturday Night, and even some Savage Worlds panels. They even have other games at the convention, if you can believe that!
Need a little more time to get your schedule in order? Live on the west coast instead of the east? Maybe you should try your luck at ZOECon, November 9-11, in Tukwila, Washington. John Goff (most recently of Deadlands Noir fame) and the Hugo-award-winning Cheyenne Wright will be there and be happy to meet you, and the con’s being run by Dead Gentleman/Zombie Orpheus, the same folks who brought you The Gamers and Journeyquest! How can you pass that up?
Wish you had a handy reference for dates for our convention appearances? Pine no more! You can always check out our Conventions page for our upcoming and most recent convention appearances.
Of course, if you still want to see Rock City, it remains on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee.
Beware! We’re Coming for You!
This fall is going to bring a bumper crop of appearances by Pinnacle folks at conventions. You can look for us at MACE in North Carolina, Con on the Cob in Ohio, and all sorts of other places.
Be sure to check our Conventions page (that’s under the News tab, by the way) for full details of who’s going to be where.
And just because we’re not listed to be somewhere, don’t count us out. With all of us cooperating on our Stealth rolls, we could be standing behind you right now. Go ahead. Look. If you dare…
Shane Hensley Coming to MACE 2012!
Have you ever wanted to meet our very own Shane Hensley, founder and illustrious leader? How about Clint Black, Core Rules Brand Manager? Plan ahead, and you’ll get that chance. They’ll both be at MACE 2012, November 2-4 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
MACE has always been one of our favorite cons, chock full of gaming, gaming, and more gaming—and always with a big ol’ Savage Saturday Night! Mark your calendars now, and we’ll see you there!
