Shane mentioned this on the mailing list yesterday, so I thought I'd mention it here for those who might have questions.
Shane has cut his hand badly and can't currently type very well.
I personally want to send my best wishes for a speedy recovery to Shane. I imagine it is very frustrating. _________________ Clint Black

Ouch! Hope you recover fast, Shane.
And remember - chainmail gloves can prevent household accidents like this from happening.
Chainmail. Useful back then, useful now.

He cut his left hand knuckles off (the skin... not the actual knuckles) with broken glass. He has stitches and a brace for a couple of weeks.
What isn't being reported is that there was a couple of trapped kittens in a burning inferno of a Ford Pinto with the doors locked. Risking his own life, Shane punched through the window to rescue the furballs. Turns out there was also a pair of sleeping orphans, a comatose nun, a dog named 'Lucky', 5 really cool rubber balls, and a copy of D&D 3.5 inside the vehicle. Sadly, the copy of 3.5 didn't make it.
Don't believe anything else you hear. _________________ -Brent Wolke

When you injure the knuckles of your hand always brag about what the other guy looks like...
Even if the other guy is actually a broken milk bottle _________________ Cheers

You know, that's what Shane gets for playing Skullchucker in the back yard with the neighbors during Labor Day! I'd hate to see what would happen if he tried to play Swing...
Get better soon, Shane!
Game on,

I take it the kittens, orphans, nun, dog and the 5 really cool rubber balls made it? Thank Goodness nothing important was lost*! Man, first the Savage Worlds books are late, then the Evernight books start falling apart, then the cards are late and now he hurts his hand. That's a lot of black jokers, Shane!
*Legal Disclaimer: This is not hypocracy. Although I am still a rabid d20 fan, especially when it comes to Perpetrated Press and Fantasy Flight Games the whole 3.5 thing was too-little-for-too-much-too-soon. Besides, there is so little difference between my homebrew combination of the D&D3e and d20 Modern rules and the new 3.5 rules that I really don't need it. Furthermore, I've mostly been playing Evernight lately. _________________ "Any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from science!" - Agatha Heterodyne

Man, Shane doesn't do ANYTHING half-assed, does he!
While I'm sure it's painful right now, and will most likely be itching very soon, just remember. Chicks dig scars.

Shane must be a Wild Card on account he's still functional after sustaining at least one level of injury.
Hey Shane! Now you have an even more entertaining personal injury story to share the next time we go to the bar.

maybe from a pile of unreleased material falling on you while you waded [literally] through it.
then, while you were laid up in bed, you had time to proof and finish it all and release it all at once.
thus flooding the market with goodness, spurring on the economy, and making all right with the world.. also in between you'd solve world hunger and end all wars. [except for the fictional ones... i mean the ones you write about... i mean the ones you create]
note there wasn't a d20 slam in that. |

Okay, but next time try to hurt your feet or legs. You don't need those to write and proofread books
J/K Get well soon and good job saving the orphans

Now, now. No hobbling the game designer so he can write more. That'd just end in Misery anyway... _________________ Still looking for a good steak. |
