Come check out our new Savage Worlds Campaign Setting at www.gamesmithsllc.com! And read about how it may involve Pinnacle’s very own Shane Hensley, here:
http://forums.gamesmithsllc.com/smf/index.php?topic=3.0
Howdy partner! Come and join The Saga of Dragon StarTM, an epic fantasy western set in the dying world of Avanti, a troubled land under the oppression of the mighty Keln Dominion. As the immense, dark empire swallows realm after realm, refugees flee to the Frontier Lands, a vast, desolate territory of endless desert and prospect towns, free for the time being from the Dominion in the far north. In this wild expanse, the only law is the Dragon Stars, elite frontier sheriffs appointed by the Ember Council.

Countless inhabitants attempt to eke out a living in this unforgiving stretch of land, and disparate races are forced to live and work side by side. Play an elf Dragon Rustler and explore the Sea of Silt—an ocean of shifting sands, enormous sand ships, and obelisk cities; a gunslingin’ orc Drifter exiled to the Shattered Lands; or a dwarf Gambler, moving from town to town and saloon to saloon, leaving a string of empty pockets and fuming enemies.

But never forget the threat from the North; as the Keln Dominion chops down the world’s forests to feed the gnashing teeth of their factories of industry, the magic of the world weakens, as do the ancient binding spells of the forgotten Aluvian Empire, allowing demons to sneak back into the world. Will you attempt to stake your claim in the Frontier Lands and pursue your own petty desires, or will you join the brave few who have banded together to face this threat and explore the ruins of the Aluvian Empire to find a way to stop the Keln menace and cast the demons back to the dark places of the world?

If your nerves are steel and your steel is quick, then saddle up and join The Saga of Dragon StarTM!

My curiosity is piqued sir.

An avid fan of westerns, especially mish-mash westerns.

Sounds interesting. Just be careful - when I saw this my first reaction was "Hooray, somebody got the rights to FFG's DragonStar setting!"

That's what I thought, too.

If you're interested in a chance to win an original Wayne Reynolds's painting, please check out our post over on our forums here: http://forums.gamesmithsllc.com/smf/index.php?topic=97.0

There we detail a few rules for entering in a sweepstakes for a chance to win! We hope you check it out!

And also note that if we reach one of our early stretch goals for this product, Shane Hensley himself will be overseeing the rule designs! More information on that can be found here: http://forums.gamesmithsllc.com/smf/index.php?topic=3.0

Thanks![/url]

Add my $.02 for thinking this was the Sci-Fi setting initially. Sounds good in any case. I would love to see the FFG property as a Savage setting, but mishmashed Westerns are always good. Why do you think Deadlands continues to be so popular?

Savage Worlds and Pathfinder are two of the three systems I run exclusively now. You have my attention. I definitely am interested. And if you're curious, the other system is Mutants and Masterminds. M&M is my go to system for supers while for most fantasy I look at Pathfinder but for everything else I use Savage Worlds.

M&M is on my list of shame, as I've yet to play the system!

If you haven't yet, be sure to check out these two posts for more info:

Not necessarily interested in the excess rulebook, but the Dragon Star campaign setting is a do want.

Well maybe for the final First-Week Special we'll make it an extra hardcover of any of the four books, that way you can get the SW and PF versions. Wink

Barring that, Softcovers are for only $25 pledges!

I like the sound of that, actually. I mean no disrespect but I'm getting old and set in my ways. I found 3 systems that get most of my work done as a GM and I'm not interested in something else.

Although in looking around I'm seeing shades of Bravestarr in here as well as some pieces of Galtar and the Golden Lance. This is a good thing as I rather liked both cartoons growing up. We'll see what the pledges are. I've already pledged $200 for the special M&M book, but I wanted to have a character of mine made somewhat official in the book, namely Ogre Bear who is a 10' tall ex-pro wrestler.

That sounds awesome! And if you're going to pledge that high, you may as well sign up for the sweepstakes!

How much I pledge on a given project is based on what reward tier I want. I normally don't go that high.

Either way, if you're participating, you may as well! It's free to enter--you just get additional entries for every $25 you ultimately end up pledging. Smile
