For my flood campaign I'm going to add some skirmish battles using a home brewed mod of SAGA. But since deadlands isn't a miniatures game, they don't give painting schemes for most of the troopers involved.

So are there official (or widely used) colour schemes for:

Bayou Vermilion
Black River
Iron dragon
Wasatch
Ravenites

Each of the Rail Barrons has official colors, and their "house troops" would follow those. The colors can be determined by their corporate logos as found in the Marshal's Handbook. Of course, all of them hire freelance shooters, who are less uniform.

BV - Vermillion and Black (skull)
BR - Black and Blue (white pentagram)
DR - Red, Blue, and White (CSA battle flag)
ID - Green and Gold with White and Red accents (dragon)
UB - Red, White, and Blue (Old Glory and large U.B.)
Wasatch - Grey and Red

Ravenites are not a rail faction, they're "civilized" Indians planning to kill all non-Indians. No official colors, though tribal war paints would be appropriate for some of them. They're an odd mix of traditional trappings and formality - suits and feathers, an oxford tie under a ghost shirt, that sort of thing.

Good luck!

If you need a solid color for each of them (e.g. giving generic soldier figures different colored bases), you could probably do the following:

Bayou Vermillion - Vermillion/Red
Black River - Black
Dixie Rails - Gray (CSA soldier uniform color)
Iron Dragon - Green
Union Blue - Blue (USA soldier uniform color)
Wasatch - Yellow (since red and gray are taken. You can remember it though because Deseret appears in yellow on the Reloaded map of the Weird West)

Of course, it helps three of them have the color in their name!

Ravenites would probably do fine as brown, the color of the dirt in the plains
