I have no idea how to respond to this. Too conflicted.
Take care of yourself, David. |

Everything has its season. This one has ended. I have been honored to have purchased several of your products and happy with your dedication to supporting those products.
I am sad to see this company go. However, I know that there are new and greater things in store for you.
God be with you in your new endeavors and don't be a stranger! _________________ http://www.armsonline.org/

I . . . ummmmm . . . don't know what to say, man. I understand where you are coming from, trust me. But . . . oh, wow.
I was following your IZ Kickstarter opinion thread and was actually looking forward to investing in it. But, . . . all good things eventually come to an end, I suppose.
Gun Metal Games is, and always will be if only in memory, one hell of a company. You guys put out fantastic products. I am definitely going to miss seeing IZ further develop.
Dave, I'm glad to have worked with you on War of the Dead. If not for you, I'm not sure we would have been able to do that product line as well as we miraculously managed. You've always been a true professional, and I've no doubt that will see you success in your writing career.
Take care, amigo. _________________ Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr.

After much thought (and prayer) I've decided that, after I put out the last three smallish supplements I have in the works, I'm going to stop publishing altogether. After seven years, this industry just isn't for me anymore. I want to focus on writing, and running a company isn't something I want to continue to do.
Obviously this means that there won't be a second edition of IZ, and I won't be putting out any material for Totems of the Dead either.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my little company over the years. In want to thanks everyone who I have worked with for all the hard, wonderful work. I couldn't have done this without you guys.
I also want to thank everyone at Pinnacle for giving me the chance to develop material for what I think is the best game system ever created; Savage Worlds. |
Sad love the work you did.. |

....
Thanks everyone for your well-wishes.
I'm back on the fence about continuing to publish.
I've had a bunch of people email me telling me they don't want me to stop, so maybe I should give it some more thought.
I've still got three supplements to put out before I'm closing, so I have time I guess. _________________ David Jarvis

I am sorry to see this post. I am just getting into Savage Worlds and Interface Zero is one of the campaign settings I plan on running. I have always been a fan of cyberpunk, and GMG's setting does a great job of bringing the concepts that we saw in Cyberpunk 2020 up with the changes in real world history.
I think GMG's products are outstanding, and I wish them luck with what they choose.

Ok, as I continue to get emails and encouragement, I've decided that I'm going to stick around for the foreseeable future. Please disregard my initial post.
Maybe I'm having a mid-life crisis, or bad gas...who knows

Ultimately, it comes down to what you feel you want for your life in the future. There are going to be many people begging for you to continue to make products because of the quality of your work (I for one would love to see IZ 2.0 come to fruition). However, you are not obligated to these people (myself included). You obviously have dreams/goals for yourself that do not include the publication of more GMG products. There is no reason for you to change your path or even put your plans on hold for us.
Thanks for the products you've already published; I'm sure you'll bring the same inspiration whatever you choose the write. |

My wife told me I should have talked to her first...
She's always right.
I can be rash. So I apologize to everyone for the false alarm. Now I have to go do penance for not listening to my wife...again... _________________ David Jarvis

I'm super happy you decided to stick around as I've been supporting IZ since day -1 (when it was still a pre order on C7's webiste).
Thanks also to all the other supporters that contacted you and showed that we care.
Looking forward to pledge on your KS for IZ 2.0. |

Talk about something horrible to see just as your checking the forums after not checking in for a week. I'm relieved you aren't leaving now though.
I absolutely love the Interface Zero line and your rpg releases are some of the few I just enjoy reading for the entertainment of the read. Even though my group has decided Savage Worlds isn't right for them I know I'll still be purchasing what comes from Gun Metal Games.
PS. Or maybe it's just cause I feel like us David's should stick together, who knows?

Gun Metal games is without a doubt one of my favorite licensees, and I'm a big fan of your products. That said, if being in this industry really doesn't feel right for you, then don't feel pressured to stay in it because we, your fans, like the work you do. If it doesn't make you feel happy and you can't look at it at the end of the day and say I'm glad I spent my time doing it, then do whatever it is that does make you feel that way instead. I'm not going to lie, I'd be a little bummed if GMG shut down (and I'm glad you aren't shutting down now), but I'd be cool with it if it meant you'd be doing something that made you feel happy/fulfilled if for whatever reason the RPG industry doesn't make you feel that way.
If you keep putting out products through GMG, I'm going to keep buying them. But If you feel you need to do something else, I'll do what I can to support that endeavor too. Much love, David Jarvis. Much love. |
