Quick question on character savings.
Do savings reset back to 100 moons per rank every adventure, or does the character add his previous savings to his new savings?
For example: A seasoned character obtains a fair amount of loot (couple thousand moons) on and adventure and blows it all during the down time on women and booze. He keeps 200 moons, his savings allotment. The next adventure, he scores another haul, this time only a thousand moons. Once again he blows his money on worldly pleasures.
At this point is his saving limited to 200 or does he add his previous savings to the new amount he saved this time for a total of 400 moons?
Thx |

Hi R˙che, yes, savings stack with the previous ones, as explained on page 104 of the Golden Edition.
Example
Shangor the Barbarian (seasoned hero) ends his first adventure with a golden idol (5k Moons worth). After replacing (for free) his trusty axe, he spends the great part of the loot in booze, women of ill repute and Lotus. He only saves 200 Moons, just for emergencies.
A week after the barbarian embarks in another mission, and manage to steal the fabulous Grey Elephant, which he sells to the temple of Umangyu for a thousand Moons.
After the customary wenching, he saves another 200 Moons, bring his Savings to 400 Moons.
The only thing that can interfere with Savings are in-game events (as being robbed) or certain After the Adventure Events.
Hope it helps! |

Oops, missed that ruling! I assumed that savings meant what's left after all the carousing, period. Have to give my players some extra next time Although I run more series of short adventures rather than multi-session ones, so I may have to limit this a bit or limit finding treasures. _________________

Otherwise, there will be no manner for the heroes to buy items more than 500 Moon worth, even at Legendary |

Don't feel bad, that was my take as well, originally.

I have to do the same a bit, but figure sooner or later there are enough adventures that are; your reward is you are alive. But figured that it still will take three or four adventures to save up enough to iron long sword in the Borderlands, or some heavy armor.

That's what got me thinking about it. When the character was asking how he was ever going to save up for his Laboratory. Then it dawned on me it should roll over. |

Well, if a player really wants something, as a Laboratory, give him!
Then there can always arise problems, as angry mobs, fires and... do you REALLY know what the building was before being your Lab ? |

| A follow up question. Do the effects of After the Adventure Event table that affect savings, apply to the savings from the previous adventure, only or the character's total savings; such as I'm Rich! or Item? |

| Total savings, unless the GM decides otherwise. |

Well I'm used to players being creative when it's matter of getting wealth & items Besides, characters also find items. _________________
