Hey all. I'm wanting to use the flood as a kick off to my campaign, but I've never run a plot point adventure before. Can someone walk me through the process so I have a better understanding of it?

I can give you a few tips, amigo.
Assuming you have The Flood, you may want to take a look at our page about Plot Point campaigns. It lays out the basics of why we write them the way we do, and how they're meant to be used.
For The Flood, the general consensus is to run a short adventure or two to get the game going before delving into the Plot Point chapters. Any of our free Deadlands One-Sheets work admirably, and the recently released Guess Who's Coming to Donner leaves a posse in the correct general region to begin The Flood.
I'd also point out that although the Plot Point has eight official chapters, what the posse needs to do in the middle section can stretch that to 15. It's important to weave your characters' backstories into the search, or you may want to cut the number from seven to something like three or four. I'm being oblique to avoid too many spoilers, but if you've read The Flood you get my gist.
Finally, travel in the Great Maze is hell. Make your posse feel every mile. _________________ Matthew Cutter
