Hi, all; a tangential thread from the discussion on SMGs I was having. Clint mentioned that a couple of SMGs from HoER were lighter than large pistols and therefore were fair to consider as one-handed weapons. This made much sense to me and I went back to SWD to see how other guns compared. So the MP5 weighs 10 lbs, the Uzi weighs 9, the Desert Eagle weighs 8, seems reasonable to think of these guys as one handed...

Then it of course hits me that none of these guns weigh this much.

So, is there any errata for the weapon list in this regard? It's strange in that it seems like most of the modern guns are ok (viz M16, M82, M2, Thompson and MP40 etc.), but the MP5, the 1911, and the Desert Eagle are specifically 1.5 times to twice as heavy as they should be. It's not ammo either, those are loaded weights. I'm not conversant enough with older firearms to know if those are correct. Was this intended to be some sort of bulk penalty thing, or just a misprint?

The first. The general rule Savage Worlds uses is that our "weights" are not solely based on weight. They also account for the bulk and other dimensions of the item. In essence, it's an overall value for total encumbrance, not purely a scale measurement.

Ok, that makes sense. It did seem strangely "systematic" in distribution.
