SavageGamerGirl introduced me to this online comic...
Lady Sabre & The Pirates of the Ineffable Aether
I think there should be an official SW sourcebook/gaming/campaign guide made for it.
Eather flyers, sword play, western fun, politics, Pirates & privateers, mystery, and daring adventure. You could even add in a little clockwork Victorian elements because the years of the western adventures is in the 1800s - isn't that about the same time frame?
Either way I think it would be a big plus to add this to the Savage Worlds family of play arenas.
(Thank you, SavageGamerGirl!) _________________

Glad you're enjoying it!
I think it would make a great game setting as well. _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

For those who don't know the webcomic...
Take equal parts of Sundered Skies, Space: 1889, the non-horror portions of Deadlands, and Pirates of the Spanish main. Mix vigorously. Serve with amazingly detailed artwork that regularly updates despite how complex it is. Serve hot with a side of high adventure!

| I am working on homebrew that has enough similarities to this setting that I will definitely mine it. I'm tempted to see if there is enough information available to just savage the setting for my personal use. |

There's some info on their Alamanc tab, including a map of the Tantin fragment. _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

Unfortunately, Lady Sabre is on hiatus for a few weeks while the creators recharge their batteries.
Fortunately, this is a great time for interested newcomers to get caught up on the archive!

Just got caught up! This is most deserving of a Savaging.
Would anything beyond core be needed at this point?
All I see that would need a little work would be some airship stats, and we've seen those on the forum before. |

Maybe the invention rules from Space: 1889 and the airship and fragment navigation rules from Sundered Skies. But you don't really need those if you're just going to wing it.
The only thing we don't know is whether or not there would be Arcane Backgrounds. So far the only "magic" we've really seen is the hypnotic mists in the fortune-teller's shop. _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

We're going to have to get more information before we decide too much.
Still, I really do wonder if they'll allow a SW supplement.
I'm liking this more than Girl Genius. _________________

I would use the ship templates from Pirates of the Spanish Main for the Skyships... _________________ "Anything smaller is just fiddly, and fiddly is not one of SvgW's three Fs..." |

I think this is VERY do-able and would be just awesome for a great SW game!!
I guess I'll pose the question of whether or not we can do this, to them.
I don't have the time or talent to write up such a thing, though.
EDITED IN - shot the question to the Lady Sabre gang. Told them I was not sure if it would be a professionally created PDF/Hardcopy or a home-brew freebie for those of us who love Lady Sabre. _________________

My message to the Lady Sabre crew...
| Quote: | Hi. I just want you to know that you are developing a following that would love to see Lady Sabre's world in the popular role-playing game system - Savage Worlds.
>
> We were wondering if it would be possible to get your permission to pursue making a world book/booklette for Savage Worlds? Please note that I'm just a fan of both the game and Lady Sabre. I'm NOT a representative of the Savage Worlds creators.
>
> At this stage we are not sure if it would be a home-brew type book for Savage World gamers to download free of charge or if it's going to be a professionally make book (PDF/Hardcopy) or even if we could find someone to write it.
>
> We just thought it would be best to firstly ask IF such a project would be okay with you guys.
>
> Please let me know.

> BTW - here is where we are talking about all this. It's just getting started, but so far everyone loves the idea.

And their reply...
| Quote: | Definitely! Knock yourselves out!! We'd definitely want to review and discuss further if this were to become something that would be "sold" rather than distributed as a home-brew, but speaking as a long time tt gamer, it's probably one of the highest compliments we could ever be paid.
Keep me posted on the progress, Warren!
Best,

We could probably use the WizKids ships too.
The Ineffable Aether Almanac provides a lot of good information and tantalizing hints & clues on defining the Attributes, Edges, & some Hindrences for some of the characters.
As for Lady Sabre. A picture is, indeed, worth a thousand words...

| Excellent! Now, I have to see if I have enough time to contribute to the effort or if I'll be an eager spectator. |
