Just what you think it is.
Just ran it today, and it was a blast. Everyone had a great time, the Force stuff worked well alongside everybody else, and we had a great space battle, too.
Speaking of that - it's based primarily on the "Chase/Dogfight" Rules of SWD, which I want to say (again) work exceedingly well.
I also want to thank Sean Preston, Mike Glanville, Victor Lacroix, John Brown, Paul Tobia, Jon Woodland, "Evil" Mike McNeal, Norm Hensley, Daniel Lawson and Clint Black for all the great stuff they did that I cribbed completely to make my version. _________________ Sean Patrick Fannon

Still reading it and I hope Lucas doesn't make you take it down. _________________ "I had a whole bunch of advice for you but got ninja'd by newForumNewName. I'd just do what he says." -- 77IM

Looks very fine, polished....
Maybe you could gather it in a single PDF? For downloading and using it?
Without comparing it to the damage of the weapon systems in your game I think that the Thoughness of your ships seems unusual high.
Ok, its a damn star destroyer, but Thoughness 200(80)!!!
I know Battleships slugging it out is something that happen in the background while fighters whirl around it.
O your YT 1300 freighter Thougness 36(5).
A TIE does 3d8(AP4) damage. So the damage roll needs to explode 2 times to even shake it. Without counting the shields.
On the other side-Han Solo didnt really fear TIEs, only whole star destroyers. |

| I am all for the single PDF. Great stuff upon a quick read but I will definitely have to take a closer look later. |

I just finished reading through this and I have to say I love it. I look forward to giving it a good run through with my group soon.
I might just change a few things like the Miraluka race who seem like their disadvantages outweigh their advantages in comparison to the other races. |

I had to re-read the section(s) on the force a few times before I understood the whole thing. It might be a bit strung out in this format. Consolidating it a bit more would have certainly helped me wrap my head around it.
I like the heroic dodging. It's kind of fun.
Not sure how I feel about a character being stuck prone until their action, but then characters are stuck in positions other than prone when they would rather move too.
Quick question about Droids: do they get permanently hosed when they lose a die type in skills or just until they can reprogram? _________________ "I had a whole bunch of advice for you but got ninja'd by newForumNewName. I'd just do what he says." -- 77IM

Borrowed all that directly from previous sources, and I need to evaluate after some more playing.
| Quote: | O your YT 1300 freighter Toughness 36(5).

You have to realize that the total Toughness includes the Shields, and the first time the damage rolled against the ship exceeds the Shields value, they go down for a time.
This immediately reduces the Toughness by the Shields amount.
There's almost always a regeneration rate (the amount in (x)), and an engineer or pilot (or someone with Tech Ops) can take an Action to try and double that rate.
In your example above, the freighter's Toughness drops to 30 the moment a blast goes over its Shields of 6. With an AP value of 4, the TIE weapon needs to do 26 damage to get through.
Which, yes, means either the TIE needs to explode at least a die of damage and/or get a Raise on their attack (and, yes, Raise damage goes here).
It may be that I need to tinker the values, but that's not too far off from what we saw in the movies. _________________ Sean Patrick Fannon

I'd say successful re-programming would restore them, yeah. Haven't encountered that yet, so we will see how it plays. _________________ Sean Patrick Fannon

That is a great looking Star Wars site! I wish I could join you in this game, it sounds like fun. I especially like the alternate universe aspect you are going with. Cool "Rise of The Empire" sidebar. (No Gungans, No whiny Vader, No midi-chlorians........brilliant!)
I have also been toying with the idea of running a Star Wars game using some of the same fan made resources. I was working up a game set in the classic era (episodes IV-VI) using mostly non-Jedi pc's in the Fringe part of space. I had included one force sensitive pc that had no real training and therefore was not very skilled in the Force. I have yet to run it though.
Great work Sean! Keep us posted on how this goes. _________________ Nick A.K.A. The Savage Greek |

Thanks for explaining the shields there. I hadn't gathered that they were already figured into the listed toughness.
Now all I have to deal with is my lightsaber expert player feeling that Djem So isnt actually represented in the lightsaber forms seeing as how it was designed to counter lightsaber attacks unlike Shien which was designed to counter ranged attacks. Aside from that he liked how you represented all the other forms which is high praise coming from him. I haven't been able to come up with anything for the forms that he would accept before.
It looks like I'll even have a droid character for my game so I'll get to see that side of the game too.
I hope that your planning on posting highlights from your game at one point or another. Maybe even bribing one of the players to do it so we can share in your Star Wars goodness. I'd like to hear how episode 1-3 non-cannon go. |

This is really great! Yes, pdf please so we can rescue it before C&D.
I would urge you to look at the starships in the Daring Tales of the Space Lanes by Tripple Ace Games. I've played with starship numbers (toughness, damage, shields, speed etc.) for the last year and a half for my own Mass Effect conversion. TAG nailed it. The numbers and size of dice you roll and the speed values are all very much FFF.
I'm not saying your starships are bad. Just that the numbers are not easily manageble. |

I also vote for a PDF of this!!! WOW! Warren like!!!
Since Jedi can really haul @$$ maybe have only them get the double pace advantage. Non-Jedi just get the "Fleet Footed" edge. _________________

Wow Sean!
I read your whole site. Everything looked great and looked like a lot of fun. I, also, would like to request a pdf of the stuff you posted and would love to hear some play reports.
Thanks for doing this,
Eric |

| Well it appears it was a good idea to copy all the info off of it. I'd be very sad if I had lost access to this wonderful conversion. |
