Been thinking about putting the conspiracy theory presented in The Lincoln Conspiracy into a Deadlands adventure.

The adventure will take place in the Weird West, where the posse will attempt to find Booth. However it got me thinking about whether there had ever been any official Deadlands writing about Booth?

Yes, there has been.

Last that was written, he's kicking around a Deep South city (Atlanta? I think Atlanta offhand, but I don't have my copy of Back East: South to reference), in disguise - he's also Harrowed, of course. If memory serves, he's wholly owned by his manitou.

Also, the bullet that was dug out of Lincoln from Booth's gun was turned into a talisman during the events of Gomorrah, CA, which allowed Lincoln's manitou to gain control over him.

As far as finding him... remember, Booth was a famed actor before turning assassin, his face was well known yet he was skilled in the arts of makeup and disguise, and didn't really have a reputation for crazy before pulling the trigger. Imagine Johnny Depp shooting GW Bush in the back of the head and you'll get an idea of the kind of sentiment. Booth sightings, and rumors that his demise was exaggerated, are all over, especially in the South where he's a folk hero. Lots of folks will say, "Hey, anyone ever said that y'all look like that Booth guy what shot Lincoln?" but no one will be sure it was him.

Still, it's very possible that Booth's manitou might compel him out West to finish the job he started on Lincoln.
