I'm preparing to run a campaign for my group and I've picked up both The Flood and the Last Sons. Both seem very interesting in their own way and I'd love to run them both.
That all said, when I pitched the setting to my players, they loved the idea of the Weird West. With that in mind, The Last Sons seems to be closer to the stereotypical "Old West" setting than The Flood and I'm leaning toward running that. I'd still love to run The Flood for them, though.
Is there any major reason that The Last Sons couldn't be set before The Flood? How much tweaking would be involved?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

I'm sorta new to Savage Worlds myself, but its my understanding that you will want to run those two campaigns with new characters for each. I believe the Plot Point campaigns are designed to be started with Novice characters.
There is some discussion about running the same posse in both campaigns here.
So if you are running separate posses, it shouldn't matter which order you run them in. Theres a trend in prequels these days |

| I think the main thing that would need to be tweaked would be the background info around the Great Rail Wars. A lot of the stuff here relates to Rail War 2, and Waasatch having one the race to build a trans-continental line (an event that happens close to the start of The Flood). From memory, I don't think there's a huge amount of the Plot Point itself that would need to be changed though. |

I would be running them as two different posses.
A prequal isn't a bad idea, though... |

Running the Last Sons first and hinting at some events that happen in The Flood would probably be the best way. Then there is a setup for The Flood that the players can get into and start discussing things like, "wouldn't it be cool to figure out how California got flooded and what happened to Lost Angels?" Then you run the prequel with a different posse, as you said. The players will be invested because you kept dropping hints of past events in Last Sons, but then they get to play out the details of things like "Kang's prized warship got blown up and he was madder than a rattler with a sunburn." _________________ "I had a whole bunch of advice for you but got ninja'd by newForumNewName.
