Do the new Martial Arts edges replace the DLR Martial Arts Edges (Extra damage, etc); and if they do, what happens to the Superior and Celestial Kung Fu edges that add extra damage? Do they stay the same? Add a die type? _________________ Yo momma's so ugly, people gotta make a Fear check at -4 whenever she walks into the room. |

| If I recall correctly, anytime that a supplement or setting changes a core rule, go with the setting change. So, for DL:R's Martial Arts, go with what's in DL:R. |

Well, the thing is, Martial Arts were redone in the new Savage Worlds Deluxe book. I don't think the edge was even available under standard Savage Worlds rules, at least not till Deadlands Reloaded came along. Now with the change in in the new core rules, I'm kind of iffy about it. _________________ Yo momma's so ugly, people gotta make a Fear check at -4 whenever she walks into the room. |

Note that the SWD Edge is called "Martial Artist" while in DLR it's "Martial Arts." Different Edges on different tracks.
If you're using SWD, Martial Artist (or any Edge that lists it as a Requirement) isn't used.
Hope that helps! _________________ Matthew Cutter

Since when can any character, Deadlands or not, take more than one? Clint explained here, here, and here for the Core Rules that Arcane Background was "one Edge" and thus nobody could take more than one. _________________ Wild Card Creator: Any PDF. Any Setting. No Extra Cost.

| I think there are very occasional circumstances where NPCs have been built with more than one. I believe there is one in The Last Sons which has, the reason being explained as part of their background. |

Yeah, Kang has 2, Chi Mastery and Black Magic, but NPCs especially powerful ones, don't follow the standard character creation rules. _________________ Yo momma's so ugly, people gotta make a Fear check at -4 whenever she walks into the room. |

Yes, thanks, I'm quite aware of what the rules say. It's meant to substitute for the exact text from the Deadlands Player's Guide. As in, the first guidance new players receive about Edges.
For this purpose, sub "as usual" for "also." Better? _________________ Matthew Cutter
