Quick Q: Is the 9.99 cost on the physical book going to be its actual price, or is that a pre-order price only?
As a second thought,
Given that "Explorers Edition" was an actual "edition" of the game, It might not be a bad idea to come up with a new name for the digest sized books, to avoid confusion. |

Their past pre-orders have been the same price as retail. I might hazard a guess that will stand.
You only really get a 'deal' on the Print + PDF bundle I think. I'm pretty sure they do this to not screw their retail partners out of potential sales, which is a nice thing to do. _________________ ~~KT~~ |

That's it exactly. The preorder is exactly that: a preorder. It's not a preorder sale, and we do it that way to avoid gutting retail sales.
The deal, though, is if you're the sort to want the book and the PDF both. If you buy the preorder bundle, which gets you the PDF immediately and a copy of the book as soon as they're available, then you get the PDF at half-price. We've never explicitly pointed that out before, I don't believe, but I'm sure at least a few people have done the math by now. _________________ Joel Kinstle

Hey!
Is the DX errata included in this EX edition?
I'd bet 'YES', but better ask you guys. |

Does the SWDEX PDF have a printer-friendly option so you can turn off the page backgrounds? _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

Surely it would be easier to say SWEED (Savage Worlds Explorer's Edition Deluxe)? _________________ Ejector seat? You're joking!

SWEED can be tricky though, unless you live in a state that allows it medicinally.

Done and done!
I'm gonna kill my printer, but I'll finally have a copy to use until my print version arrives! Whee!

I have the SWDE PDF, and that has all the erratas (up to a point), what is the advantage of getting the new SWDEX? Is the new size easier to read on a tablet? Are there errata that made it into the SWDEX that are not in the SWDE PDF? Something else?
Also, last year when we ordered the SWDE and got it at GenCon, I do not recall getting refunded the cost of shipping. Not that it matters, but seeing that the release date is 8/31. Can we order the book with the intent to pick it up at GenCon, thus saving on shipping? Or is it better for us to wait until GenCon, and will we be able to get the bundle deal there ($15 for PDF and Book) and save on shipping, but have to pay IN taxes? |
