Howdy Clint,
I am confused about vehicle turning. I see several posts in which you made similar statements about vehicle turning:
"A vehicle can turn once per action."
and
"A character can only make one turn in an action. "
And I think I know what you mean, but I am not sure, perhaps because I'm getting hung up on the word "action" and the possibility of characters performing multiple actions. So I am in need of further clarification.
I'm hoping several yes or no questions will do the trick:
1) "Driving is a free action unless the driver attempts a maneuver." Does a driver get to make the free 45 degree template turn if they are attempting a maneuver as well?
2) If the answer to question 1 is "yes", then I'm assuming the "tight turn" maneuver can be thought of as adding an additional 45 degrees to the template turn, correct?
3) A character "may not perform the same action twice in a round." Are all maneuvers considered the same action (the action of driving), and therefore only one driving maneuver can be made per round by any single character?
4) If the answer to question 4 is "no", then is it safe to say that a character can attempt any number of driving maneuver actions in a single round (incurring MAPs, of course) as long as none of the maneuvers are the same?

Sure.

Effectively. You can't do a tighter turn in addition to the 45 degree one (the Tight Turn manuever supercedes the free 45 degree one).

Pretty much, Driving is a free action unless the character attempts a manuever, so the manuever makes Driving a "normal" action, which then can't be repeated.
Note however, that the GM could allow the general "Manuever" manuever to work as combining other manuevers that make sense into a single one. It's basically whatever the GM will allow with a chosen penalty.
Hope that helps. _________________ Clint Black
