I'm trying to get my War Gamer friends and my RPG friends to agree on a game and I think Showdown will be it.
In an effort to minimize the battlefield and still maintain a "campaign feel" I'm thinking of using a Post-Apoc setting.
Anyone else done this and have some resources they can point me to to save time?
I'm thinking paper craft buildings and using a deck for populating ruins,
with the Resources / Hazards being based on the cards drawn.
That will give me 50 different variations. (A1234567890JQK)
Should be enough to battle over or in.

Do you think that using playing cards for loot where the face value is the number of build points gained is enough?
That would give a range of 2 to 80. (limit number of Jokers in a row or not?)
A=10+another draw
J=20
Q=30
K=40
Joker= double another draw
OR, would it be better to make a "Loot List" to draw from?

so you are going to do a campaign, with Showdown type fights?
That's how I did SW for my group; mostly to show off how fast it could run big combats, and to make the fantasy something different |

That is the initial plan, yes. I'm fishing for "ideas that actually work", I got no shortage of just "ideas".

The Ultimate Rebuild Guide

This gives the details needed to model Rebuild.
Just use Showdown for the battles between the Feral Humans/Zombies and the Players' forces.
Next to determine how detailed the map tiles need to be.

Found a perfect place in a small northern town that the police station fits right into. It's just like it was meant to be.
Google maps works wonderfully for "Modern" gaming.
