I am looking to make a Gambit style character that charges up and item then throws it. The item explodes when it hits it's target.

Is the Explode power the best way to do this? It seems to do everything I want but only references the person's body.

Explode is more like the Human Bomb, Nitro, or Dan the Dyna-Mite.

You want Attack, Ranged with the Area Modifier and the trapping of charged items that explode.
