I was rereading the SWD in anticipation of getting to run something and came to the Cooperative rolls rules. I don't have my Explorers Edition with me so I can't check it, but I do have my Solomon Kane book (I was going to use the Incapacitation rules from that).
Now in Solomon Kane cooperative rolls are made against a flat TN of 4 without modifiers. In the SWD that isn't the case anymore? Or was it that way in the SWEX as well?
I may use the flat TN without mods anyways. It seems like there will be more successes by the helpers, which I think is good (more fun for the other PC's).
So is this new to the SWD or was it a Solomon Kane only version?
Also, since I've brought it up, which do people like better?

It was always that way in SWEX but was clarified in SWD.
But, due to misunderstanding, my group used TN 4 for cooperative rolls for a long time. It encourages cooperation and makes it more effective. In some ways it makes it too effective; especially if multiple party members are able to aid, this can provide a reliable +1 per party member which is kind of a lot. The real difference is on difficult checks with penalties, as this reliable bonus can negate most of a harsh -4 penalty. If the cooperators had to face that penalty too, then most would fail and the acting character would still face a difficult check.

Thats why I like the idea of an edge that can be used to cancel out penalties on cooperative rollers.
