They are a great bunch of games, an interesting form of real time strategy game-play. Basically you control a squad of agents. They are old enough that you will need to find them on Good Old Games or similar website. Might even considered abandonware by now.

Yep... the first one, at least, is indeed on GOG here: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/syndicate

(That reminds me, I need to get some games off GOG someday... Might and Magic 1-8 are calling me...)

Sweet!

Thanks for the link.

No problem. Oh, and add me to the chorus of happy IZ owners... I haven't been able to run it yet, but the detail you guys put into the setting is awesome, and really gets the ideas flowing.

Looking forward to IZ 2.0!

At some point in the near future I will be talking to the only local gaming store in Philly, I hang my head in shame that there is only one gaming store in all of Philly and it's in center city, about having them special order me books for IZ and Savage Worlds since they normally don't really stock SW stuff. They cover Pathfinder and 4E but not much of anything else. A sad testimony to the state of gaming affairs in the cradle of Liberty.

For some reason, no matter how many game stores are in an area, it seems like none of them lean toward carrying much of anything Savage Worlds on their own initiative. Sarah and I have had to work pretty hard to spread the gospel around the Sacramento area - holding a lot of demos and banging our own gong. But persistence bears fruit... Three of the four most local stores now carry at least the basic stuff (one of them actually now having an entire display case dedicated to Savage Worlds), and one of our demos has led to stores farther afield looking at carrying Savage Worlds products (and based on that store owner's predilections, I'm betting Interface Zero will be one of them)

Keep the faith, and all that... Once gaming stores start to realize people actually want Savage Worlds and will buy it, they're usually more than willing to at least order it - if not put it on their shelves. Cool

I'm more than willing to run Savage Worlds for people. And especially IZ.

Does your game store have any kind of game room or similar facility? If so, see if you can set up a 'demo day' or some other special function that would allow you to showcase IZ - that's the best way to generate both interest and sales. Wink

I have to shoot the store an email about adding the Malmart catalog and NAC book to what I want them order for me so it would be simple enough for me to inquire about a table. The only problem might be space and time. I work nights, so the only time I can run is on the weekends, which tend to be their busiest.

If you can spend a little time talking to the store owner, manager and/or event coordinator, you might try explaining exactly what it is you want to do and see if they can set you up for a one-shot, four-hour block of time so you can run a demo Savage Worlds game. That's more or less what we eventually did with one of the stores around here - and when they saw enough interested people turn up for it (and believe me, it won't take too many to convince them... we had around twenty-odd, but it was enough to get three tables of games going), they're likely to be willing to keep the product on hand. In our case, it also led to them asking us to do more games there - which is why we now have had a weekly game (which has actually expanded into two tables) and a bigger monthly event on their calendar since the start of November.

And if you can get them to give a game a go, and you're unsure of where to go from there, PM me and I'll try to offer some help and advice on handling a demo game.

Some great advice, I will try to explain the situation as best I can and go from there. I have tons of ideas in my head about running IZ and worse comes to worse I can flesh out the scenarios in the back of the IZ core book on the fly so to speak. But it's something to keep in mind.

Just an update:

The basic Hacking rules will be ready for free download by monday, and then it's on to polishing up some of the more advanced concepts, like Brain Hacking and hacking things like vehicles and guns, and more information about the Deep in 2088.

Sounds good to me, I've already made some arrangements to buy the print books from the local brick and mortar store.

This is great to hear! Will the new hacking rules be posted on the gunmetalgames.com Download page?

Are we still looking at a possible June release for the print version of San Fran? And when will the Deep be released in either format? Will I be able to have the these books in my bag when I go to Fur Fright in October?

I hope to have SF out by june, but I'm not positive yet. Things have stalled a bit on that front.

The Deep will be released in PDF and Print.

I plan on getting both books, well everything you guys do really, in print. IZ is a product line I like and will support as much as I can.
