Hi Guys, Just thought I'd share a preview of the cover image I'll be using for the new hacking rules. It'll also be the cover for a book we'll be doing on The Deep.

This image is of a fight between two avatars in a public location of the deep I'm tentatively calling "Cloud City." Essentially, Cloud City is a massive domain where people go and socialize. This image depicts a fight between one of the more popular denizens of Cloud City-Red rabbit- and a rogue piece of Malware called a Cyrix-9 series Black ICE program. Enjoy!

Looking pretty awesome. LOL... Although I'm not sure I want to visit Cloud City - one wonders if folks like Ophelia and Sandman lurk there! Very Happy

The pic looks awesome although this is just a suggestion but if you are going to do a book just on the Deep, that could be a perfect place to add in your revised Hacking rules.

They'll be going into that book as well, but I'm also going to give the bare bones hacking rules away for free so you can start using them immediately without having to wait for the bigger book.

Capitol idea! I know I'm going to get the book on the Deep in any case. I actually plan on getting every book from this setting that comes out both from the standpoint of a collector and a GM who uses the setting.

Eye catching indeed. I definitely want to support IZ in print. And seriously what cyberpunk does not have some hacking to some degree? At least in this setting and from what I have been hearing in certain podcasts, the new hacking system is geared to make that aspect of the game world intrinsic as well. No more body guarding the hacker's body while she goes in Deep.

Even more awesomeness in the art department, I do look forward to seeing some deep settings.
If you guys do a kickstarter for IZ2.0 I'll definitely donate.

I'm not sure which cover I like better: this one or the proposed cover for the San Francisco book.

San Fran. There's enough artwork of rabbits jump-kicking robots.

The Deep cover is a fantastic example of the set, but hardly unique. Minotaurs with chain guns are harder to find (which is odd - it seems a natural combination).

My only real complaint about the hacking rules cover is that "red rabbit" came out a bit too cutesy, but it's a nit-pick.

The entire image is meant to portray a digital, VR environment, so even cuddly wabbits can do some nasty things.

LOL... I thought so, anyway. Although it's really supposed to be a homemade Gatling rifle - but I think a chain gun works just as well! Mr. Green

Thanks! I like to put neat art in my games. I think a really cool image can be inspiring.

It can be both; though technically it would be a rotary gun (since it isn't a 19th century hand-cranked weapon, nor was it built by Dr. Gatling, M.D.). Gatling guns have multiple barrels that rotate in front of the chamber. Chain guns use an actual chain to cycle the round into the chamber (thanks wikipedia). Both require a motor - which could be used to power both systems, saving weight and space (for all those extra barrels).
Though ATK (the company that owns "chain gun") refuses to make a rotary chain gun - I don't know what they have against Cool, but maybe it's a legal thing. Lawyers are either starkly against cool things, or for them but restrained by precedent and clients.
