| I have a player who wants to take force control but instead of a Green Lantern style "force" he wanted to have the trapping be that he is manipulating water. Similar to Mera (Aquaman's wife) who would definitely have Matter Control (water) but she can manipulate it further then just throwing tons of it around. Has anyone run into this before? Would you allow it? My first instinct was to say no but now that I'm reading over it, it doesn't seem that far out of hand. Flight seems like it could be a problem explaining how he is using water to fly but he told me he would just use the glide power from matter control. |

| Sounds perfectly reasonable to me, I'd allow it. You could also use Telekinesis if you wanted finer manipulation. |

That particular function sounds like a trapping for Attack, Ranged. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I mean-- The rabbit-- It's a time-tested-- Okay, the rabbit bites.

He would end up having to take ranged attack since he wants to shoot high powered water jets at his enemies. But he also wants to build constructs out of the water. Water that looks like a club he can swing and what not. |

So, his ranged attack has two different trappings. That's not a bad thing - it gives him more chances to bring the awesome, and earn a benny. _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

Be sure to consider Switchable for the more specific uses of water. Attack, Ranged for the water jets, Attack, Melee for the water club, Telekinesis for the watery grab all sound like things that couldn't be done at the same time, so make 'em switchable, expand the variety, and save a bucketload of points.
Just a thought, anyway. |
