I like this.
Saw this...
| Quote: | Soak Roll – Character ca spend a Benny on a Soak
Roll (Vigor check) to regain 1 Wound. Rasises take
away +1 Wound per Raise. If all the wounds are
Soaked it removes any Shaken condition. |

Funny, looks/reads okay to me. Anyone else have that promlem? If so, any ideas on how I can I fix it?
Yes, I saw that thread and DL'd a few things (I really like the character sheet - great for newbie players).
And yes, doing a cheat sheet is the best way. Looking up the rules and putting them down really makes them stick in my mind (worked for Mutants and Masterminds too).

Funny, looks/reads okay to me. Anyone else have that promlem? If so, any ideas on how I can I fix it? | It will look ok to you because you have all the fonts installed that you used to create the document. To people like me, who do not have a particular font installed, it appears to be written in gibberish (at least in sections). When you create the pdf you might want to check that fonts being used are embedded into the document, or make sure to use fonts that are pretty standard.
That, in theory, is why at least several of us cannot read the document. At least that is my story and I am sticking to it. _________________ Stephen J. Miller

Good point. I'll have to go back and check it (I use the PrimoPDF print driver to make them). Although the only non-standard font I used was Haettenschweiler. The rest is in Arial, which I thought was durn-near universal.
@Amaril: BTW, where is the Fan License logo? (I still think mine is cooler though. )

You can find it on the Savage Worlds Licensing page which contains requirements and a PSD of the logo. |
Thanks. I'll change it around this evening.
Huh. First time I was called on something like that (then again I'm used to dealing with old OOP TSR games).

Yeah, I figured I'd just raise awareness of it before someone official mentions it. You'll notice almost every fan-created product has that logo, so it's not like it really bothers anyone in the community. If anything, it sort of creates solidarity among us. _________________ Kristian

That's exactly what I do. I use custom logos for personal stuff that's used at my table and with my group and appropriate assets for publicly distributed stuff. _________________ Kristian

Of course. That's why I'm a threat...I have a graphics program and I know how to use it!

A nicely done cheatsheet, saved to either print for my players or to inspire the creation of my own similar sheet.
The thought occurs that you could get all that text onto one sheet by going to three columns in landscape format with a slightly smaller font size. Not everything has to be 12pt, after all!
Or put Tests & Combat on one side of the sheet together, Character Creation on the other. Most of the time we're spending a lot more time with Tests & Combat instead of Character Creation, after all. |

Thanks.
You're right. When I printed it I did it double-sided on cardstck. That worked out fine.
As for 3 column and a smaller font, well, I guess I was bowing to age. That's the smallest size I could use and still read it without my glasses. I'm also working on a D&D DM Screen - Large Print Edition.
*sigh* the gaming community is aging...

Yes I have - in fact I have my main D&D charts for the screen (PC To Hit, Monster To Hit and Saving Throws).
Too bad I gave my screen away to another needy DM in my group...
