So I found this today and it looks awesome. Anyone have any experience with it?

It's not cheap ($30) but the map creator UI looks great and it supports both displaying on a larger screen as well as connecting with players that also have iPads, including a GM mode that lets you hide parts of the map.
This is pretty much everything I'm look for, especially since most people show up with iPads now. We already use a flatscreen to display maps and this makes everything that much easier.
However, the price point is rather high especially since everyone needs the app, even if you are just a player viewing the map. $30 is certainly in-line (or cheaper) than other virtual tabletop software out there but when everyone needs to spend $30, it becomes expensive.
I emailed the developer today and asked if a client version was available or in the works. Even a $5 viewer-only app would be reasonable. _________________ Chris (aka GlassJaw) |

And what would you consider reasonable? Especially for a niche of a niche of a niche app that might get a few hundred people using it?

Nope, because it isn't one person paying for it. So, still $30, which is cheaper than a lot of other materials that GMs and players buy for their games (sourcebooks/rulebooks in the $40-$60 range). And really only 2 licenses are truly needed for the group. One for the player monitor, one for the GM

Reasonable to you... not necessarily to someone trying to do more than give away their work. Especially since it sounds like you're thinking of the App store model of things, where you're expecting thousands of people to buy an app for a few $s, like Angry Birds... _________________ My Blog of Random Gaming: http://www.daemonstorm.com
