The SWD manuals specifies you can only raise your attributes once per tier.

Question: does spending your bonus advancements coming from Hindrances when you create your character on increasing an attribute count toward the Novice quota of said advancement?

Example: Leah creates her character, and spends his 3 Hindrance points on an Agility increase and an Hedge. Can she use her second advancement (10 experience points) to increase her Vigor or she has to wait for the Seasoned tier to increase an attribute as she already did so at Novice (during creation)?

My interpretation is that you can increase normally (so theorycally one character could have 3 attribute advancements at Novice rank, provided 2 are done at creation), as there's nothing explicit about it in the rules and if the rule of 1 single attribute advancement per tier was enforced at creation, you'd get something about being unable to advance two attributes, but there's some doubts in the group. Thanks in advance.

To be clear, SWD states (pg. 43) that an Advance from experience can be used once per Rank to increase an Attribute. There is no such limitation on increasing Attributes with Hindrance Points.

So a starting character could spend their 4 Hindrance Points to increase one Attribute 2 die types or two Attributes 1 die type, and then they could still use one of the Novice Advances to increase an Attribute as well.

Note however that this is specifically different from Edges (like Power Points) that say they can only be taken once per Rank. In those cases, it does not matter how the Edge is gained, it is still limited to once per Rank.

Hope that helps.
