I can't see playing a Doctor Who role-playing game. Does someone get to play The Doctor? Are you all Time Lords? Are you The Doctor's companion(s)? I have a pretty vivid imagination and can imagine The Doctor doing all kinds of fun things, but I can't imagine it translating into a good role-playing experience. _________________ "I had a whole bunch of advice for you but got ninja'd by newForumNewName. The Lord of the Rings game by Decipher was fantastic. It really captured the feel of the setting the way no other version I've seen before. Unfortunately, the system itself was clunky and I'd be hesitant to try running it again. It would be perfect for SW, though.
The LotR game had professional abilities and general Advantages that could probably be easily ported over to Savage Worlds as Edges.
One could probably re-create the Decipher version of the races using the race creation rules as a guideline. Elves got a LOT of benefits with few disadvantages, though. True to Tolkien, yes, but not exactly balanced for gaming. I'm not sure how well the Elves would port over, if one was concerned with remaining that true to the source material.
The spells in the Decipher LotR game were generally low-powered and non-flashy (except a few, Flame of Arnor being one), and would easily work as SW powers. _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

Top Secret. It would require very little, other than write-ups for all the gear - but I'm too lazy to do it myself.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I would love to see a spycraft / espionage toolkit for SW ... _________________ "It only takes an extra second to be courteous."

Good call! Edit: I see that Oneiros mentioned Unhallowed Metropolis earlier in this thread.

Well, one that I'd really like to see is Unhallowed Metropolis. So much so that I'm working on converting it now (with a couple of threads related to the conversion in this forum.) |

I'd love to see the Mystara Campaign Setting.
Ok, so actually all I need is the Fantasy Companion and the Mystara Gazeteers - I have the former ... and I had the latter, but they 'went missing' during a house move.
I loved that setting ... _________________ Currently Playing:

There is a Savage Rifts thread on Fear the Boot, with some converted vehicles and weapons. I would probably use the SPC myself, and convert Rifts mega damage to Heavy Weapons/Armor. _________________ "We are the Queen's shield. We are the nation's shield."

I think RIFTS would make a good savage setting, but of course you'd have to tone things down a bit. I always LOVED the background of the setting, but hated the system. Scaled back to a bit more balanced levels, I could have a lot of fun with RIFTS.
Glitterboy armor could be scaled back to a bit better than plate mail, with a gyrostabilized cannon for "only" 4d8 HW damage.
Psionics and magic types could be retrofitted to use the Savage Worlds powers system.
Crazies and Juicers could be created by coming up with an Arcane Background for each.
The mutant dogs? Race creation rules.
etc.
However, if you do want to maintain that "the pistol in my holster can level cities" feel, I'd also say damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead, and use the SPC without regard to making the characters balanced. _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

Ther's just so much material with Rifts, where would you start? _________________ "Anything smaller is just fiddly, and fiddly is not one of SvgW's three Fs..." |

I would take the SW core rules, and then all my setting books, and then have the PCs hop from setting to setting.

That would be more in line with Torg than Rifts, I think... but I take your point.
And to be honest, the only Rifts resources I've ever read are the core rules and two of the periphery books, I don't even remember the titles (one had to do with ARCHIE, and the other introduced the Cosmic Knight as an OCC).
So, just how much damage would a Boom Gun do then? _________________ Yes! I have captured your cat and placed him in this box where he will either flourish or perish as chance dictates! |

I've always wanted to play/run In Nomine (original, not the GURPS version) again. The original In Nomine system is pretty horrible, but had some incredible flavor that meshed well with the setting. And the setting is great. I honestly don't know where you would begin to Savage this and still maintain the music themed powers and 'races' of angels/demons and , but if it could be done... man that would be exciting stuff.
Another one would be Conspiracy X (original again, and sourcebooks, not the GURPS or Unisystem incarnations). This would actually be very easy to Savage and is high on the list of games I want to run soon.
And last but not least is another vote for Rogue Trader/Dark Heresy, already mentioned earlier in this thread. _________________ We have to believe in free will. We have no choice. |

You mean you'd play Savage Suzerain.

| As there has been a GURPS traveller, and a d20 traveller, an official Savage Traveller isn't that insane an idea. |

Birthright would be a very good setting to steal. It would be very interesting to see how SW handles the nation side of the game. (Hellfrost has a good start, but its focused more on managing what you have instead of interacting with the world)
It would be interesting to see 7th sea done. Though Pirates! probably handles that close to good.
Finally, I might want to see a solid Anime based game. |

Just curious, but have you checked out any of the fan-made Star Wars conversion at the savageheroes.com conversions webpage? Some of them are quite comprehensive, in fact one of them is over 100 pages long. I personally haven't used any of them yet, but they're definitely worth checking out. |
