So, today is my day for posting... ahem.

Ok, in going through NE and I started building a character. During so, I go to wondering(and maybe I overlooked it), how does one increase their super powers? Not buy new ones, increase the ones they already have.

Say I have a telekinetic who grows in power/skill. Do I just "repurchase" the power at the original rate of 2/level?

Is it that simple?

If it's 2/level then you pay the Power Point cost multiple times. So 2 PP would give you level 1, 4 PP would give you level 2, 6 PP would give you level 3, etc (that's a total PP cost, not cumulative).

You can take the Power Points Edge once per rank to give additional PP, and you can take it during character creation to increase your starting PP to 15. You can also take Super Karma for a further +5 PP.

Improving powers works as Zadmar described. You invest more points into a power you've already bought, either increasing the levels (note that many powers have limits) or purchasing positive modifiers.
If you don't invest more points then the powers don't improve.

Do note that taking Power Points during character creation counts as taking it during the Novice rank.

A character maxes out at:
Base Power Points (free with the modified Arcane Background edge)
+ 5 Power Points edges (one per rank)
+ Super Karma (if allowed).

Depending upon the power scale of the campaign, the number of points gained can vary, but the possible progression is unchanged.
Natural Progression provides that without player's having to invest edges.
Total Power replaces that progression entirely with all the points you'll ever have, provided at character creation. Spend them wisely. Wink
