THE SKETCHMAN

The year is 2013.

There is no order.

There is no peace.

There are no roads, no telephones, no motorcars. Not a single luxury. A war has destroyed civilization and evaporated the oceans, leaving the survivors struggling to make their lives in isolated towns and dusty sea floor
communities lacking any means of communication and having little or no art appreciation.

An army of warriors called the Vonists, led by the despotic General Bethledan (DAN CHAPMAN), is determined to keep the people apart and their spirits empty so that the Vonists can continue their reign of terror. From the "sunken" remains of the Titanic in the North Atlantic Wasteland, Bethledan and his deadly second in command The Last Contessa (CATHERINE ZETA JONES) rule a vast sea floor empire, hoping to one day conquor the mythical Wetland of legend.

A lone drifter (KEVIN COSTMOR) traveling through the dried territory discovers the rusty ruins of a deep sea salvage boat. Inside, he finds a sealed water tight safe containing an old artist's sketchbook and drawing
utensils. Hoping they will make it easier for him to get food and shelter from the townspeople nearby, he takes the art supplies and presents himself as The Sketchman, a representative of the restored Artists Union of the
United States.

To the people he encounters, The Sketchman and the portraits he draws serve as a reminder of the way they once lived their lives. Slowly a new spirit begins to take hold in their hearts. The illustrations The Sketchman creates have become a symbol of hope, order and a reconnection with the places and loved ones of their pasts, and eventually inspire the people to seek Wetland, the paradise foretold in ancient prophecies. More importantly, the drawings give the citizens the courage to battle the Vonists to regain control of the country.

A new war begins between Bethledan and the re empowered citizens, as both race to find Wetland. As the confrontation looms, The Sketchman must examine his soul, asking himself if he has indeed become the person others believe him to be. He must decide if he is willing, in his new role of hero, to fight for the fledgling society he has inadvertently created and help them claim the rights to the fabled Wetland.

But the defeat of Bethledan's Vonists is only the first hurdle faced by The Sketchman, as a huge comet suddenly appears in the skies, fortelling certain doom. It is then up to The Sketchman and his allies to find a missing scientist that can help them avoid another worldwide catastrophe. Joining him on his mission are the lovely Last Librarian (GILLIAN ANDERSON), the young apprentice Sketchman Chrysler Dodge Plymouth (LEONARDO DiCAPRIO), as well as two tough former NASA Space Janitors(BRUCE WILLIS and ROBERT DUVALL).

"The Sketchman" has a running time of 5 hours and 55 minutes.
