I'm wondering how folks deal with some of the weirdness that can arise with making multiple attacks as a single action, such as with Frenzy and automatic weapons.
Okay, let's say you want to grapple a guy and then proceed to pummel him. Should Frenzy work? You make both attack rolls, if one succeeds, you grapple him, if they both succeed, you get to damage him? I can see arguments on that one going both ways.
Second thought mostly involves Red and Blue Fate chips from Deadlands, though it could come up with other weird bonuses.
Let's say I'm using Frenzy, or a gun with ROF 3, or I'm casting multiple Bolts. Then let's say I drop a Blue Fate chip on it, boosting my roll by 1d6. Do I just add the d6 to one of the attack dice? Or do I roll several d6, each attack die getting one, or do I roll a single d6 and apply it to each attack die? I suppose the same question can apply to a Test of Will. |

One trait die. Just one. Clint covered this in the last couple of months, though I can't find it at the moment. _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

A little farther back actually...

Short version, the +1d6 adds to the total of one die, not multiple totals even if the dice are part of a single action. That's one of the times it might be better to use a Red or Blue Chip as a White one. _________________ Clint Black

Hmm. I must have come across it in the last couple months while looking for a different thread, then.
Regardless, thanks for finding it.
Using Frenzy to Grapple and Punch seems really corner case, but I'd probably rule it like automatic fire. I.e. assign the dice after rolling them (grappling is opposed, so there's not telling what you need to roll for that to succeed) - *that* die is the grapple and *this* die is replaced by my wild die and is the punching. _________________ "Got a problem?
