Hi Clint, et al.,

I have some questions about Autofire, innocent bystanders and the Wild Die ... and also shotguns.

Buck (with Rock & Roll) fires a submachine gun (ROF 3) on fully automatic at a group of Nazis (TN:4) including a potential "Innocent Bystander".

Example 1 - He gets the following results (where W# is the roll on the Wild Die):

6, 7, 8, W5

Does he get 3 or 4 hits on the Nazis? (there are certainly enough bullets flying for 4 hits)

Example 2 - He gets the following results:

1, 7, 8, W5

How many Nazis does he hit? Does he hit the innocent bystander?

Example 3 - He gets the following results:

6, 7, 7, W1

Am I correct in thinking he hits 3 Nazis and doesn't get the innocent bystander?

Example 4 - Switching to a shotgun firing buck-shot:

1, W6

Is that a Nazi and the innocent bystander, or ... ?

Example 5 - Still with the shotgun:

6, W1

I assume that is just a hit on a Nazi?

Thanks,

Tom

He gets 3 hits. The Wild Die result can replace a Trait Die, but it cannot be in addition to the result of the Trait Dice.

He hits 3 Nazis and no innocent bystander since Innocent Bystander requires a result on the Shooting die that misses. Since the Wild Die turns the miss into a hit, no Innocent Bystander is hit.

Correct, a 1 (or 2) on the Wild Die does not "activate" Innocent Bystander; that's only a Shooting die.

Officially, as with the other example, it is still a hit, so the Nazi is hit.

Yep, also the same as the other example of rolling a 1 on the Wild Die.
