I have a huge box of Rackham miniatures, and dont like Rackham's game.
I found The Rippers: Horror War. Is there a Fantasy version out there?
Sorry, I know nothing about Showdown at all, but am hoping i can use the cool minis I have.
Thanks! _________________ Eastwood Saves! The rest of you take Full Damage. |

@Lord Inar: Thats looks really cool. I hope to use it one day. Thanks for the link.
@Slasher: That is a big help. I was vague because I did not know there was a actual rule book. I am looking for a table top war game rule set. Showdown confuzzels me. Is it GM ran, or a player vs player war game?
Thanks. _________________ Eastwood Saves! The rest of you take Full Damage. |

It's player vs. player (or team vs. team if you split up the units). No GM is required, but one of the players will probably need to be someone to handle some of the little things, like dealing out cards and such (think of the player who is the Banker in Monopoly).
Because I anticipate that it may be confusing, I figure I should mention that some scenarios feature "Rogues" who are factionless units that do not belong to either player. At first, it may look like you need a GM for them. Although you do need a player to roll dice for it (probably the "banker player"), there are predetermined rules for how a rogue behaves (on page 18 ) so no player has to decide what to have him do. Bottom line is that there is no need at all in Savage Showdown for a GM.
Sorry to hear that you're confused about it. We'd be happy to help answer any questions you have! |

Thanks Thunderforge, that clear up alot. I like the sound of having "rogues."
I guess my next question is; Do players just mix and fight with anything as units? or are there factions (of a sort) depending on the setting?
Thank you all for the help. I have been a savage for some time now, but I didn't think Showdown was related at all. _________________ Eastwood Saves! The rest of you take Full Damage. |

After looking at the rule book a bit, seeing some civil war uniformed dwarves and some hillbilly goblin miniatures, I want to do a wild west w/ fantasy races kind of Showdown game. any idea where I should start or has this been done already? If so does anyone know where to find more stuff on and for it?
thanks. I really like this Showdown stuff. _________________ Eastwood Saves! The rest of you take Full Damage. |
