Hello everyone,

You know I was rolling through the forum as I've been doing lately and a thought struck me...

So often I see forums of this general style and several of them have embedded chat rooms included... perhaps that a yuku* only thing but it sure would be neat If it is possible to get an attached chat room...

Or is there an IRC or something I'm already missing?

An IRC channel with a web interface would be best by me, as I already have all my chats aggregated into one non-web application.

Does anyone know how to setup an IRC channel?

I've never futzed with it much.

really you can enter any public irc server and create a room; so long as someone is in there it'll remain active. I think that's why 24-7 rooms use bots as placeholders, but I've never worked with bots before.

Yeah... I think this would be a good idea. I know that they have this over at the Hero Games website, and Steve Long even has a weekly chat with fans.

I would certainly hang around in a Savage Worlds IRC chat. I'd set one up, but I don't have a computer I leave on indefinitely to run a bot, so as to keep moderation levels between sessions.

I know slashnet.org fixed the problem of needing bots by creating ChanServ which gives automatic op status to people when they login.

So I registered #savageworlds on irc.slashnet.org.

Feel free to come by and join Jeff and I who will be hanging out to chat with everyone!

And in case your wondering I'm Tweak, and Jeff is Apathy_Jeff. Due to the other channel I hang out in I have to use my nickname. Unless anyone knows of a client that can handle multiple nicks on the same channel.

P.S. if anyone from Pinnacle wants to stop by message me so we can give you mod powers.

I just found a decent web client for IRC called Mibbit. If you want to join the chat without installing anything, follow this link:

There was as server error on Slashnet yesterday causing the botnet to ban everybody on the server. This has now been fixed, and the chat is up and running again.
