I was playing Mass effect 2 and i wanted to try to convert some of the Characters Using just the SWEX

Hindrances:
Loyal (Cerberus), Overconfident, Quirk (Issues about being Gene-Modded)
Edges:
AB: Superpowers, Attractive, New power,Connections (Cerberus),Level Headed
Statistics: pace 6 parry 5 toughness 6 (+1) Charisma +2

Seems nice, but i would suggest using Psionics for Biotics.

That's not a bad idea. I was thinking of making tech powers work like weird science devices. I would make sense for a character like Mordin, who is basically a weird scientist anyway.

I used the Superpowers due the fact that some characters have both biotics and tech abilities.

However I think that with the right "trappings" you can easily replicate Mass Effect game with the standard SWEX manual! What a wonderful thing we have in our hands! -___^

PS: maybe the Fantasy Companion could be useful 'cause:
- gives you Races Creation guidelines
- gives you a new type of armors
- gives you some new useful power (we are playing a roleplaying game, not that limited videogame with just a bunch of good-only-for-combat powers...)

However, you can do that without extra books! Wink Go for it!

Instead of Superpowers I think you should just allow people to have two Arcane Backgrounds. Superpowers is really grossly expensive if you have more than one power (even with just 1 power I think it is slightly overpriced, except for very specialized builds).

I think LL is right that with Trappings (and maybe a little FC) you can create a pretty good Mass Effect setting without many setting rules.

I was also thinking of using a modified NE superpowers to make the characters. Since in mass effect the heros are larger than life

In'trestin' idea - I have a habit of running up NPCs using the bog-standard SW rules to see how close I can get to a particular concept or source character, so its fascinating to see someone else having a stab at the same! Personally, I prefer the AB: Superpowers approach to the ME2 special abilities, but only because that particular AB mirrors the actual game mechanics more closely than any other. If you were going for something closer to the fluff then yeah, a modified AB: Psionics would probably be a better fit for biotics... Keep the Superpowers for tech, maybe? Hmm, I've been inspired; maybe I'll break out the Fantasy Companion and run up a racial template for krogan or netowrked geth... Wink

I think that's mostly because, until ME2, the closest contact any organic species has really had with the geth has been at the business end of a pulse rifle... Smile
