*Spoiler* (Kinda)
So I was running my players through Episode 2 when they were attacked by a pair of G'rok in the sewers. The fight was going slowly, mainly because rolls were turning on the players and GM alike, and on of the PCs decided to try a creative tactic. He had invented an intangibility belt for the session and was hanging out avoiding the G'rok's claws when he was hit with the idea to pull intangible loose change out of his pocket and drop it into the G'rok's head then turn tangible so the beast would have a noggin full of quarters and dimes.
Entertained by the idea I allowed it and had the G'rok roll vigor to see if it did any damage since I figured the G'rok doesn't have the largest brain in the xenobiological kingdom. The coins did manage to lodge in the creatures brain but did no damage. Which meant little since the strong man of the group smashed the creature's head into the ground a round later. (The coins shooting out the creatures nostrils from the impact of the fist was rather humorous).
I'm curious if allowing the character to drop intangible items off their person and then switching the power off would actually make the lost item turn solid again or would the player even be able to remove intangible items? Since the power is a device he obviously can manipulate things on his body but can he remove them? |

Sounds like an excellent trapping for the Attack, Melee power. _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

He would need the "phasing" modifier to make it a free action to shut the device down, but there's something in the Intangibility rules about becoming solid within another solid object. I believe that a hand causes one wound and, since a few coins are smaller than a hand, they wouldn't cause any damage. _________________ "I had a whole bunch of advice for you but got ninja'd by newForumNewName. We were playing a NE one shot over a year ago where one of our players was running a phasing character that liked to drop hand grenades into bad guys. It was a lot of fun, but I'm not sure how it would pan out in a long term campaign. _________________ "It is requisite for the relaxation of the mind that we make use, from time to time, of playful deeds and jokes."--Saint Thomas Aquinas

I've always ruled that as soon as an object leaves the intangible character's body it becomes tangible again. So the handful of coins would have just become solid again and bounced off the G'rok's head. Of course, looking through the Super Power Companion, there's nothing that says how this works one way or the other. Maybe this calls for some official errata? _________________ http://tristansnexus.wordpress.com/ - A gallery of some of the minis I've painted over the years |

I'd definitely allow it for free the first time someone though it up
after thast I might insist on it being a trapping of Attack, Melee and have the player spend some points to develop this ability |

If something is intangible is it subject to gravity?

I had all G'roks be mutant g'roks from the Terror in Terrytown scenario, which made the sewer hunt in Ep2 a lot more tense.
