As you walk down the dusty street you see another low (for Memnon) single story stone building with mud-plastered walls just like all the others in the settlement.

A notice roll will show this building has a crude sign carved in slip that says “Library”

As you enter your head barely pass the height of the hammered iron doorknob.

Inside the room is lit with an imported light tube attached to the ceiling rather than the usual smoke spewing oil lamps fueled with animal fat.

Along the walls are shelves stacked with animal skin scrolls and stone tablets. There are two crude tables with benches sized for Memites and in the corner a kiddy sized table and bench (just right for you) with clay pots of finger paint.

The Librarian greets you in the best-pronounced slip you have heard on this fragment so far.

You may use the Library and the librarian as a resource to gather common information about the fragment of Memnon and nearby fragments.

The Librarian would like to hire you to find more books for her library. She suggest the bargain bins at Ba’Arn & Bo’Dar’s on Babel

At the end of the promenade almost hidden behind Ba’Arn & Bo’Dar’s garbage bin is the entrance to the Comic Store. The door has been tagged by the local street gang “The Tomb Readers” and the illumination globe above the entrance has been smashed. As you enter this shop you find it crowded with all manor of comic books, toys, action figures and games most with a thin layer of dust. The proprietor sits behind his desk reading the latest issue of Play Slip, he quickly looks up as he hides the magazine under a news printout. You are the first customer he has had all day and he greats you excitedly as he tries to interest you in his wares.

He is open to questions but has little knowledge of the politics of this universe or even his own fragment. He can give an accurate yet opinioned answer if your interested in any films, literary fiction, games, toys and other collectables produced in the slip. He does however know some one who knows some one who can help smuggle “collectables” through customs. He is not so much interested in cash for his information but wants to acquire more items for his various collections
