Im going the be starting a new Road warriors campain with a few of my freinds. The idea so far is that they are part of a merc group that is braver (or crazyer) then "the convoy" meaning they take the jobs "the convoy wont". most of there rigs and cars are mixed in with ww2 things (haven read any of the weird wars books so they are base off of our world tec) i.e. the battle Rig its a mix of an australian land train (big rig with a hell of a lot of power) and a b-17 bomber meaning it has ball turrets (lots of guns and lots of armour). Right now im having a littile bit of a hard time think what there first mission will be (they are driving a military dune buggy). the first session Has to do with the mrec corp not having a contract for a while so everyone board giving the pc a change to go about the complex and meet people. one more thing in my campain "R. Percy Sitgreaves" is still around and working for them but hes going by the name henry (i read the part in the junker book were he survived the battle with the "gorgon" (El diablos). i was only going to have a realy old harrowed mad scientist/ junker working in the group but i thought Percy would be cooler (the gorgons still after him thats why hes working for the group for protection).

Spoilers for those not wearing Marshall Badges!

Interesting idea to use Sitgreaves! I imagine he's just 'the mechanic' as opposed to the leader (as he tries to keep a low profile). But being a Mad SciŽntist/Huckster/Shaman/Junker, I imagine he came up with the plans to build the Land Train in the first place, and is around to maintain the thing.
I'd base the longterm campaign around him, with the players discovering more about Hellstromme Industries and related events (and dark secrets!), and eventually find out about Sitgreaves and his demise against the Gorgon. (This could be information gathered from old Agency sources about the Gorgon). From there, all official recorded info stops. Sitgreaves began his new life as Henry, survived the Apocalypse, and somehow wants to restore the world as it was. Of course, he uses his special skills, came up with a battle fortress (the Land Train), and houses a mercenary company in it. (Maybe the merc leader is just a decoy and trusted friend, who gives out plans which are actually thought up by Sitgreaves.
Eventually, the players discover all about Sitgreaves' hidden past; maybe through a trip trough the Sioux Nations, where he resided and hid for long after the Gorgon's attack. He's a legend amongst the Sioux, and they still speak of him as a revered chosen one.
Abouard the Land Train, he's just Henry, the local junker who keeps the whole thing running (and sometimes constructs the odd device for the posse)

The problem now of course is that the Gorgon still hunts him, and it will only be a matter of time before it finds him. It's up to the posse to stop this thing.
That's problem Nr.1. If the posse defeats the Gorgon (which would be the 2nd time the Gorgon got defeated) I'd think the Reckoners would send the best Hitman they've got. You know who ... Twisted Evil That's problem nr.2, and probably the biggest problem your posse will have.
Possible problem nr. 3: How come Sitgreaves is still alive? Most likely, he became Harrowed. Maybe that's why he eventually left the Indian Community (as much as they liked him, they can't trust someone who's 'soulmate' is pure evil; and most likely, he thought so himself too. So he left voluntarily). This means the actual leader of the Land Train is a Harrowed. What would happen if this quite capable force suddenly got wrong orders, and gets ordered to fight those it normally protects?

Anyway, general missions woul be like this IMO;
- escort/transport/protect trade caravans going into Combine Territory (this former Hellstromme Industries-powered force would be a natural Enemy for someone as Sitgreaves of course). Get paid in fuel, ghost rock, and/or bullets.
- after they've shown they're capable at that: Seek and Destroy missions. They get hired to find actual aggressors in the area (road gangs, a black hat platoon, an automaton, ...)
- then; 'commandos' style missions; as a small but highly capable group, do specialist missions which would be hard to achieve with a big group.

During the missions, they discover various facts about a certain 'Sitgreaves', which will eventually lead to all of the above.

Anyway, that's just what I came up with this moment. Feel free to completely ignore it if you want! (Although you will hurt my feelings if you do Sad .)

My two cents; as an experienced Huckster, Sitgreaves could be keeping himself young through his hexes, like Hoyle did.

those are some very good ideas Wendigo1870. The leader of the caravan isn't Sitgreaves but an old Captain from the last war. The idea was that after the Captain (known from this point on as Trader [im a fan of the deathland books by james axler]) found a military stockpile that had a Unit of Operation Damocles troops. The unit being from the same army quickly acepted Trader as there comading officer. After hitting the road they came into contact with Sitgreaves fighting off something (this was gunna be the 2nd fight with the gorgon but has you said the third time would probally be stone). The group rush to the rescue sadly in the end only trader and the Units super soldier abe survive but they beat back the gorgon enuff to save Henry who then repairs there vehicles and heals them. from that point Trader and henry strike a deal that as lasted till today Trader will protect and gather suplies for henry and henry keeps the convoy rolling.

To solve problem number 3, I'd make sitgreaves into a cyborg. That way you wouldn't have to worry about a manitou. As for problem number 2...everybody dies at some point. Just remember that Stone probably doesn't care about the heroes at this point and would escape after he finished his mission.

Most of the books have a little info on this area or that. The ones that might help you the most are Road Warriors and the HoE Companion.

As a Marshal, you decide if you ever want Sitgreaves' Manitou to be able to take control; you don't have to 'find a solution' Wink. In fact, being a Huckster in the first place probably gave him a fine insight in the workings of Manitous, so he might know how to avoid Dominion. Or else he just made a device for it which stops the manitou from gaining Dominion.
He could even just be an early case of Omega Man, avoiding the Harrowed situation entirely!
Problem nr2: Stone can indeed 'just walk away', but doing that while there's a bunch of heroes around who were able to stop the Gorgon Surprised , well, that's kinda sloppy. Of course, No-one says Stone has to come in the first place - or that the heroes need be there when Stone makes his move on Sitgreaves.

Twisted Evil WHAHAHA! and/or crazy super muties oh joy that would be fun (one of the 'commandos' style missions)
