Hiyas
Was wondering, if the rumours are true, would Space 1889 be a license (by Heliograph/Chadwick) or a Savage World by Pinnacle?
Thanks

Heliograph has the official license to Space 1889 and has done a fine job keeping a great game in print. We haven't said anything about a Space 1889 game here.
Thanks!

Hello!
By reading some of your/forum's posts (http://www.peginc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21641), I thought there was an upcoming Savage World based on it... Too bad!
thanks

Heh, thats not what he said. He only stated that no one has said that here...which is true. _________________ I'm not an adversarial GM. I am a facilitator of awesomeness. - Dr Rotwang |

Shane is notorious for leaving clues scattered throughout the forums and the website. So while he may not be able to announce anything officially he can drop some hard to find clues here and there. That's not to say there WILL be a Space 1889 game from PEG, but he didn't rule it out either.
The line about 1889 lines of RED tape is pretty telling, IMO. There were similar hints dropped about Solomon Kane before its release as well, but those were trickier. Time will tell... _________________ I'm not an adversarial GM. I am a facilitator of awesomeness. - Dr Rotwang |

| I would be very surprised if any roleplaying product that were put out by Pinnacle this year or the next didn't use the Savage Worlds system. Very. |

from the Heliograph-page:
| Quote: | | We will have new role playing books and lines coming in 2009. |
maybe they have licensed savage worlds.
Would be cool.
further discussions should be moved to General Discussions. |

I'd be willing to bet there is a SW license. The 1889 lines of RED tape line is more than a little suspicious. _________________ I'm not an adversarial GM. I am a facilitator of awesomeness. - Dr Rotwang |

Yes, that's a Shane special if ever there was one.
It'll be pretty fascinating to see how this all unfolds. There's a very good chance that PEG itself, rather than Heliograph, has acquired the SW license from Frank Chadwick. Especially considering that the clue was dropped on a page devoted to future PEG, not licensor, products. There's also this from Heliograph:
| Heliograph website wrote: | And What About New Space: 1889 Material?
Aside from the TRMGS archives and the reprints, we don't have any other agreement with Frank, so if you're a game company owner and would like to license the Space: 1889 RPG, you're free to negotiate with Frank for the property. |
Here's hoping Shane made that call. _________________ Andrew |

Here's hoping. Space 1889's setting mixed with the Savage Worlds system is like chocolate and peanut butter. Let's face it, there's nothing wrong with being the Reese's peanut butter cup of the rpg world. _________________ "Rommel, you magnificent bastard! I read your book!" George C. We all agree that a Savage SPACE 1889 would be cool, but what about a SPACE 1999? _________________ Christian Lindke

| No offence, but you guys are reading into this way too much. Shane probably just mashed his keyboard in an attempt to made a large number to describe the red tape, and a coincidense came out. He also said that the licence is elsewhere. Shane never says anything about future releases. Why would he start now? |

No offense but Shane has done this sort of thing before. Plus it's fun to speculate wildly.
I think "Pinnacle" is actually proto-Hyborian for Easter Egg.
Or maybe Middle Martian. _________________ RPG Haven Podcast

| Yep, I remember the lead up to Solomon Kane, in particular, being along these lines. |

Wait a minute here, Joel. Are you telling us that Pinnacle is going to drop the Savage Worlds system in 2011?!?
See? This is how crazy rumors get started. _________________ Matthew Cutter
