Well I have to admit that my French is a little bit… non-existent.
Next in my current Hornblower campaign I will present the British crew with a French privateer ship. So my question (to avoid the embarrassing laughers while the session…) is if “La Belle Justine” or “Le Belle Justine” is the correct way to pronounce the name? The ship is supposed to be named after the daughter of the captain.
Anyone able and willing to help?

It's La. La = feminine in French...at least it should if my Latin is correct.

Shad is correct... It should be ''la'' It's the feminine form... trust me I'm french Canadian

Yeah. "La" is always feminine, as are 90% of words ending in an "e". "Le" is masculine or neuter - things are by default, male.
