when casting a spell that affects multiple targets, such as bolt or burst, do you make an arcane skill roll for each target even though it was a single spell?
Burst is an area effect attack (using the Cone template); it affects multiple targets simply because it can affect any target touched by the template. Each potential target then makes an opposed roll versus the one arcane skill roll of the caster.
Bolt works differently as each bolt is considered a separate spell cast as a single action. Thus, the caster gets one Arcane Skill die per bolt, but only rolls one Wild Die since it is a single action. So casting three bolts would entail rolling 3 Arcane Skill dice and one Wild Die (which can only replace the result of one of the Trait dice). _________________ Clint Black
