I picked up the Dealands Reloaded template for Metacreator, so I tried it out on the following PC:
Spirit-In-The-Air
Attributes: Agility d6, Smarts d6, Spirit d8, Strength d4, Vigor d6
Skills: Guts d8+1, Fighting d6, Tribal Medicine d6, Survival d4, Tracking d4, Healing d6, Shooting d6, Stealth d6
Charisma 2, Pace 6, Parry 5, Toughness 5, Grit 1, Power Points 15, CV 66
Hindrances: Old Ways Oath, Poverty, Vow: Fight the Ravenites.
Edges: Attractive, Arcane Background (Shamanism).
Powers: Armor, Healing.
Gear: Tomahawk: d4+d4*, Bow: 2d6, Arrow (×20).
Background: Since a young girl, Spirt-In-The-Air has shown that the nature spirits where with her. Going against tribal tradition, Spirit was taught the great medicine to help heal and protect her people. Although she was betrothed to Running Eagle, another shaman, her heart belonged to Sharpened Stone, a brave who she had grown up with. When she discovered that her husband to be was a Ravenite, she exposed him to her tibe's elders. Before he could be executed, Running Eagle escaped and returned with other traitors armed with fire sticks and iron weapons. After overwhelming her tribe's camp and killing the rest of her tribe, Running Eagle tied her to a pole to left her to die of hunger and exposure. She escaped her bounds and on the graves of her lover and her people, that she would use her powers to oppose Raven and followers.

Drop the +1 from Guts. Also consider that the attractive edge is in character but you don't have a Persuasion or Streetwise skill to be affected. You end up rolling d4 and d6 both at -1 as your unskilled social skills.

I think the +1 Guts is supposed to be from her one point of Grit.
Also, she'd be rolling straight d4 and d6 for Persuasion and Streetwise. Her Charisma bonus negates the Unskilled penalty.
But taking these two Skills does make sense for this character. And if I counted correctly, you even have two Hindrance Points left to spend to get them.
I see a major an two minor Hindrances for -4 points
Two Edges for +4.
5 Points worth of Attributes.
15 Points worth of Skills.
It looks like you forgot the one free Edge that all Human characters get. If you declare one of your current Edges to be the free one, that will free up two Hindrance Points to spend on more Skills (e.g. Persuasion and/or Streetwise). _________________ Please Click: |

Combat Value.
It's a stat coming from metacreator. |
Is it a rating out of a certain range value or what? I'm unfamiliar with Metacreator.

It's not a Metacreator value, it's a Showdown one. The first iteration of the Showdown rules gave guidelines on how to cost out PC's for Showdown play, and those calculations were incorporated into Metacreator.
It's horribly out of date right now, AFAIK, but it would be easy to update it if-and-when the next generation of the Showdown rules become available. _________________ "Your GM is metagaming ... and wrong!" |
