Are the DTA adventures linked with an overarching story arc?

(I assume they can be used stand alone).

I am not Wiggy, but I know the answer Smile

On the whole they aren't. Think of them as episodic. However Wiggy has suggested in several places that certain characters may return in later adventures.

Having said all that... Our latest title Island of Terror is the first part of a two episode epic which will be concluded in Kingdom of the Blood God very soon.

Does that help?

Yes that helps, thank you.

I am trying to decide if I should start my purchases with #1 or one of the later ones.

The adventures are published in order of how many XPs the heroes should have. Issue #1 starts with the PCs at 20 XPs, #2 at 30 XPs (Issue 1 contains two stories, hence the jump), #3 at 35 XPs, and so on. It's very easy to tweak the encounters, but I figured it was worth mentioning that the adventures get tougher as the issues progress.
