Hello,
Thanks to all the answers I got from this forum, I created 2 Damage and Healing summary Game Master screens for SW:Ex. They can be found on Board Game Geek.
Do they contain errors? maybe you have ideas on how they could be improved? I'd be happy to get some input from experts! |

Flowcharts aren't really my thing, but it looks correct as far as I can tell. _________________ Clint Black

Thank's Clint for moving this out here...
Over all, this looks like a nice piece of work, and quite helpful.
I do have some issues with the "Battle aftermath" chart, though.
1) Incapacitated Extras do not make their Vigor roll immediately, but at the end of the battle.
2) The Not Shaken result for getting a Raise on the first Vigor roll is redundant. Since the roll is only made after the battle has ended, the Shaken condition is no longer of any consequence.
3) I'd remove the Question Box "Moved wile Incapacitated?" (and its following results) and replace it with a simple Status box "Stabalized, but will die if moved further".
And on the "Healing (Wild Cards and Extras)" chart I was at first a bit perplexed about what "Additional Incapacitation" was supposed to mean. After a look into the rulebook I found that it's actual an "Additional Vigor roll due to Incapacitation" _________________ Please Click: |

I found it handy; it pointed out a thing I did wrong:
in my games, if shaken, you'd either spend a benny first to automatically remove shaken OR you risked rolling for Spirit. (You could then use a benny to re-roll this Spirit roll, but not to remove Shaken anyway after you failed your Spirit roll.) This forced the player to make a choice; use a benny for assured shaken-removal + action, or taking risks with a die roll but keeping a benny.
It also never occured to me there's a Pace penalty to wounds. _________________ He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

That's how it was in SW:1st & RE. It got changed in SW:EX

We keep forgetting that as well.
One more thing about the charts:
The "New wounds or newly Shaken" section of the "New Damage" box seems to suggest that you must choose to spend a Bennie immediately after getting Shaken. That is incorrect. You can spend a Bennie to un-Shake at any time you want. Only, if you do not spend the Bennie immediately after being Wounded, you do not get the chance to make a Soak roll. _________________ Please Click: |

Thank you for the positive comments and for your very valuable input.
I'll include your remarks and corrections as soon as I get back from vacation (i.e., when I have access to my computer); when I'm done, I'll post a message here.
Comments are still very much welcome! |

Thanks to the remarks above and to some additional input from these forums, I created a corrected/updated version of my Damage and Healing GM screens.
Version 1.1 is available for download on Board Game Geek.
The most significant update can be found in the "New wounds" and "Shaken" charts. |

| I LOVE this flowchart. It saved my butt several times when I GMed my first game the other night. I consider it essential for new GMs. Great work! |
