|
|
Hello all!
Here is where we start work on the next issue of Shark Bytes!
The process for getting articles seems to be going fairly well so we will do it again. As you know from reading the current issue, our next issue will be:
Savage Fantasy!
Shaintar!
Evernight!
City of the Shark!
Sundered Skies!
I’m calling out those settings to generate interest, but of course anything’s game. I'll be filling in this table as I get submissions over the next few months so you know what's coming and where we need contributions.
I know some of you have sent me submissions for fantasy Savage Worlds in the past. I should get those listed here shortly. If you sent me something and I haven’t posted your name here in the next couple of days, please bug me!
Finally several things to note.
1) I’d like something for every one of these columns, but that might not be possible. We won’t hold up the issue for just one column!
2) We can always find room for more than one entry in a given column, so if you see that there’s already an article, don’t let that stop you from submitting!
Oh, a deadline for submission? You want a deadline?
June 15, 2008
That seems pretty reasonable. It allows for a little slippage with sufficient time for our crack staff of proofers and layout men to whip it together.

| I'm a Savage World convert in a D&D gaming group, so I'm constantly making fantasy style characters in order to figure out the game system. I've made some pretty awful ones, but I think I have made a few worth sharing. Aside from the stats, are you looking for a whole backstory, or just a physical description and a few sentences on what they're like? |

I would recomend just a short paragraph covering that character's reason to "adventure". Backstories usually are more setting specific and I suspect these are more for GM use (villians and extras or maybe a pre-generated hero). _________________ The More I Learn, The Less I Know |

Well - unless Mæster Fannon puts his foot forward, I'd love to do a short adventure or two for submission, likely based in Shaintar, but I could try to pull off a "generic" fantasy one. _________________ Vincent Kingston

Slasher Epoch - It's noted!
manifold - A second big yes!
kalan - Don't let other contributions stop you! I loved your NE adventure!
Lysander - What Bill said is good. You could also take the old Pinnacle approach and provide them with a key phrase, like "So now you require my services. Well, it is going to cost you!" (paraphrasing one of the Evernight characters) _________________ Lord Inar

I've already submitted a One Sheet and an article on the sins of a generic pantheon. I will be making other submissions as I am inspired, probably something in the races and beasts section next.
Looking Forward To It,

Might I suggest a text interview with Dave? Skies should be in the shops by then. Ron & Veronica did an excellent podcast, but more questions will be raised once fans buy the book.

At this stage purely hypothetical....but if someone offered to write something - when would you want it by? What sort of time frame are you thinking? _________________ Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight?

By all means, amigo! You do the adventures, I'll handle some other stuff. I will likely do one or two Novice characters, and a couple of Legends.
I'll also polish up the Background Enhancement Rules I just came up with, and have a few other tidbits as well.
Deadline, man -give us a deadline! _________________ Sean Patrick Fannon

Alrighty then - you can schedule me for at least one Shaintar adventure, and possible some expansion on some ideas we've been bouncing back and forth on the Talisman site regarding Inns and Taverns - and how to breathe life into them using food _________________ Vincent Kingston

I was thinking that, too! At least I think I was!
When I have a game at my place, invite everyone over for dinner and provide 'tavern' fare.
If more want to get involved, you could make it a pot luck.
BTW, I was trying to find that inns and taverns thread, which one is it specifically?
