When I have a game at my place, invite everyone over for dinner and provide 'tavern' fare.
If more want to get involved, you could make it a pot luck.
BTW, I was trying to find that inns and taverns thread, which one is it specifically?

Well truth be told - not a whole lot there atm:
http://www.talisman-studios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=202&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Mostly just my ramblings about Danish foods being used as a basis for the Kal region
But if you have some more well formed ideas, I'd not be averse to a collaborative effort on this I know its something that is very often overlooked in games, and to the best of my knowledge, only one book has ever covered it much (there was an old AD&D supplement for Dragonlance - LEaves of the Last Inn or some such if memory serves). _________________ Vincent Kingston

I remember that! I think it just had a recipe for Otik's spiced potatoes, though. Not sure.
I had originally come up with Inn menus that I would print out on cardstock and hand to players visiting an inn, kind of like being handed a menu in a restaurant. I had quite a number of other visual aids like that.
And, of course, while comming up with them, it got me thinking about food in general and how cool it would be to have a sample plate, like appetizers, available for the the players to partake. Now, I've not been able to pull this off yet! But I have picked up a couple of medieval cook books to try out.
Kind of reminds me of bringing Klingon food to a Star Trek club pot luck one time...

IIRC, it had the spiced potatoes recipe, one for "moon" cookies, another for gully dwarf chicken, and "Fizban's Fireball Chili". I only had the guts to make that last one once ... once was more than enough. _________________ "Your GM is metagaming ... and wrong!" |

These are all great ideas, and I want to stress again, don't shy away from doing something because you see that a column already has an entry. The more the merrier!
Also, for some reason, the e-mail notifications have been a bit wonky, so I'm not getting alerted when this thread gets updated.
I'll check back when I can, but please don't feel I'm ignoring you if I haven't updated the contents list right away. _________________ Lord Inar

I'm curious if I should blend the "Expanding the Pantheon" article with the concept of domain magic as presented in the Savage Freeport tome...
In essence, it would add a required domain power and trappings to each deity listed.
On second thought, perhaps that should still remain in the hands of the GM. However, an expansion on domains might make for an interesting article. Hmmm.... still considering the possibilities...

Somewhere along the way, I got lost...
I have created my fantasy character idea, have it saved in a word document per the writer's guidelines. Where do I send it for review and possible consideration? |

| I can contribute some new races for the "cryptozoological society"-column, I think. I can't draw though, so it'll just be words. |

I think if it doesn't call out anything specifically from Savage Freeport, it should be fine (since it's not a PEG product). Otherwise, I'd leave it as it is (which is prettty good already). Either way, it should be OK. _________________ Lord Inar

No problem, most of us can't! Send it to any of the editors Bretbo posted above and we're good. _________________ Lord Inar

I'm sure it's the calm before the storm.
I'm waiting with baited breath to get my copy of Sundered Skies and then hopefully we'll see some submission relating to it. _________________ Lord Inar

While I've brought this up on another thread, this one is probably the more appropriate place to mention it. Perhaps someone could write an article which suggests some alternative methods for kicking off the Sundered Skies Plot Point. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. ...and speaking of Sundered Skies, if someone is willing to create an electronic list of the spells available for each type of spellcaster, I'll make it look good. _________________ Lord Inar
