For those not aware, CthulhuTech is a relatively new RPG published by Mongoose which combines H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos with mecha anime. This is actually not the first time someone has come up with such a mix, as the anime series Demonbane does something along the same lines. But as I've noted in this blog post, while the setting is awesome, the game mechanics leave something to be desired. So I've taken it upon myself to adapt it to Savage Worlds. The first post on the subject in my blog is up and deals with a sort of new Derived Statistic as well as Edges old and new.

My copy of the game should arrive this week. The guys over at the Cthulhutech forums described the system to me as something akin to World of Darkness with a dash of Savage Worlds thrown in.
The premise really excites me and I'm hoping the mechanics are half-way decent. Otherwise, I too will be doing some Savaging. _________________ Mike Dukes |

| what if on the poll I want to pick neither? Anime Cthulu..there's something fundamentally wrong with this promise. Though the system seems kinda interesting from that description. I'll have to look more into this at a later date. |

the CthulhuTech game is not realy anime perse but it takes many concepts like Giant mechanical and Organic mecha, alien power armors and in some cases powerful psychics. The actual art style is more grounded in American Manga in regards to the character art. Scenery and mecha design has a more believable but visceral style emphasising that the world of the Aeon War is dangerous, and bleak. This art style leads to an interesting but not unwelcome take on the creatures of the Mythos
I very much enjoy the stories to i actualy hope that the game generates enough interest for a stand alone novel
In regards to poll, big boobs but only if the essenstial to the plot |

I have this game - actually I have two copies of it. You see the first print run (using Mongoose's POD) was a tad wrong on the cover/binding so Mongoose stated that if they received photos as proof of such they would send out a second book....... free of charge whilst not worrying about the orginal version.
Sweet.
I knew this before I bought the book, thus breaking my "no dead tree copy" rule (space and logistics).
The setting is very cool and very well thought out. Game system well I really did buy the book for that - Savage Setting. I have had this sitting on my desk since before Christmas, thanks for the reminder.

Looks good. I look forward to seeing more.
Poll: I voted for Big Round Eyes. BRBs on a male is just wrong. _________________ Pineappleleader

As with my Savage Supernatural thread, the main purpose of the poll is to keep it from being accidentally culled. So I deliberately chose a silly question with equally silly choices. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I'm just about done on the rules concerning Insanity (partially inspired by Rippers) and should have them up by tomorrow. Currently I'm hard at work with the Tagers.
I'm also mostly done with converting the Nazzadi to Savage Worlds. However, I'll need something equivalent to a minor Hindrance to properly balance them as a PC available race. I'm drawing a blank though. Any suggestions? _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I mean-- The rabbit-- It's a time-tested-- Okay, the rabbit bites.

OUTSIDER (minor) . Because of their reflective red eyes and sharp incisors, Nazzadi make humans a little nervous.
This would be a very minor version, as over-charging them for goods and services and not helping them in an emergency would not apply. _________________ Pineappleleader

I'm afraid that doesn't really work. According to the core book, the Nazzadi are pretty well integrated within Earth society (though the situation is a bit dodgier in communities outside the arcologies). Anyway, when fighting against a horde of insect shaped mushrooms, red eyes and pointy teeth aren't so frightening.
Here's a new post concerning Insanity. Feedback would be appreciated.

I read the sanity rules over and will mull them over a bit. Overal initial impressions are they are clean and I like them, but I might tweak them a bit. How? I've got a few ideas, but that's what the mulling is for.

I saw this in the book. Outsider (minor), as in my post above, might still work.
Real World: In my town there are two places of business were I and people like me are treated poorly (ignored, refused service, or over-charged) based on our ethnic group and the language we speak. This is not susposed to happen in the good old USA, but it does - officially everyone is pretty well integrated in our society. Unofficially....
It was just an idea. If you can think up a better one please use it.
Your conversion looks very good so far. Keep it up. _________________ Pineappleleader

Actually I'm now thinking maybe something involving the way the Nazzadi police their own for individuals who retain loyalties to the Migou. Suggestions on how to implement this would be appreciated. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I may not understand the issue, but that sounds a bit like an obligation or vow. _________________ Jason Irrgang, blurring your reality since 2008.
