Might be a stupid question, but how much does cannon ammo cost?
Does a 4 pounder use 4 silvers worth of shot etc?

Generally, $500 for 50 shots.

Page 123 notes that a Cargo Space holds 50 shots regardless of the type of ammunition (you may get more or less depending on using 4-pdrs or 16 pdrs), and earlier page 53 lists the cost of a Cargo Space as $500.

Since powder and shot is cargo, you can haggle to get a lower price if you want.
