We know there's a slew coming. In no particular order, and I hope I remember them all...
Oh and I didn't include things like Blood Moon or Takanak City since it's been a long while since we heard about them. So they're probably a long way off anyway.
Oh, and I had to reduce the list since there were too many poll options.
if you could buy* one and only one of the settings above - which one would it be?
*(Yes that excludes any settings you might get for free since you write it, playtest it or get in exchange for releasing the hostages. You'd really have to cough up money for that one!) _________________ Markus

Why Do I have only one choice!!!!
I choose sundered skies. But the moment I send it I think that maybe Scary Tales or Shaintar would be better. And Evernight II, or Hell on Earth/Lost Colony.

I need my PULP! Hence the vote for TRES. Also, could someone explain to me what exactly Empire of Bone is? I've heard it talked about, but never heard anything about what the setting is all about. _________________ Epic of the Arrows - A Saga of the Untamed Lands |

Red Rising and Shaintar are both high on my list, though I went with RR. I also want something in the vein of Iron Dynasty / Empire of Silk and Steel. BTW, can anybody give me a comparison / contrast of these two?

I really have high hopes for AoO. There's a ton of stuff up there I hope I get a chance to buy and try out, but as I mentioned in the other poll there's still a lot of the older SW stuff I have yet to purchase and run. So simply due to the poverty of time I'm not going to be able to buy and play everything I'd like to.
Most people have been bummed that PEG didn't publish more stuff last year. Personally, I can use the time to get caught up.
I'd also sell my mother into slavery for HOE Reloaded, but I'm abstaining from voting for any of the DL franchises because I think it could skew the results in ways unfair to other excellent settings that don't come pre-packaged with the detailed background available from the classic lines. |

I picked Weird War 2, with RunePunk, Red Rising and Scairy Tales right on its heels.
BTW, where's Solomon Kane? _________________ "If you think I'm crazy, you should see the people I'm locked up with." - Steamdriven

I picked Red Rising, but WWII is right there, it was a photo finish, by a nose. _________________ David Sumpter

I chose Slipstream, but that's if I had to pick just one. Now that I have a little bit of disposable income, I'm planning on picking up a few more settings. So here's the list of runners-up, in the order they appear above:
Shaintar (eventually. It takes a backseat to my own fantasy world)
The Ravaged Earth Society (while I can do pulp in my sleep, TRES manages to come up with the most compelling pulp setting I've seen)
Weird Wars II (Always wanted to get into it before, except...d20 *shudder*)
Agents of Oblivion (In spite of the horror angle, which doesn't do a lot for me)
Savage Hell on Earth/LostColony _________________ Mike McCall (formerly NotSoSavage)

| That is a darn close call betwee WW2 & HOE, but I had to pick WW2. We had a lot of fun with ToD, and I think a WW2 game would really go for our group. I was surprised that they enjoyed the Viet Nam era so much with ToD, so I know WW2 would appeal--especially with all the cool WW2 movies that we've all seen to set the tone. I would most likely tone down the supernatural, though; a little goes a long way. |

Chose HOE/Lost Colony though Empire of Silk & Steel or Solomon Kane would be more preferred by me (especially the latter...drool ). Not exactly sure what most of the other titles are genre-wise though a SciFi or pulp setting would be nice as well... _________________ Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women! - Conan aka Arnold the Govenator |

Yes I forgot about SK. Sue me!
Or don't sue me, because I left it off because...because... it's a license. Yes! It's not an original setting! HA! A totally legitimate reason right there!
Yeah, alright, I forgot.... _________________ Markus

| I went for Red Rising over Sundered Skies and Evernight II though a poll (at least a year ago) of my players suggested that they would prefer fantasy. Normally I prefer fantasy especialy over Pulp or modern games but there are aspects to Red Rising that intrigue me. I assume that it includes a Plot Point campaign as any setting without one would be removed from my list. Ian |
