|
|
I usually play a pulp/zombie/post apocalyptic miniatures game so collecting miniatures was a snap.
It took SW to pull me back into the realm of the RPGs again. I'm going to be using my horde of miniatures for our various SW games.
Anyway here is a fun collection of minis that we put on the gaming table alot.
Sorry for the sucky paint jobs and focus on some of the pictures.
You might know some of the characters that these miniatures represent...
PULP -
Doc & 4 for his Fabulous Five
Cult leader & his followers
The Infamous "SKULL"
Kazar & Zabu
ZOMBIE SURVIVORS -
All pictures noted from left to right -
Cherry Darling (Planet Terror movie), Duke Nukem, Ash (Evil Dead & Army of Darkness)
Vic Romano, Kenny Blankenship, Guy LeDouche (pronounced as "gee" in "geezer"), & Captain Tenneal...
Hosts of MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) -
Look it up on YouTube!!!! (prepare to die laughing!!)
HeroClix AIM agents repainted for Hazmat teams. Got ten of them.
Various Survivors. All Clix miniatures.
Foo Yee & Chew Mee. Owners of the Hu Flung Dung martial arts school.
Unknown team of agents sent in to "contain" a biologic outbreak. Got about 15 of these. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents repainted.
POST APOCALYPTIC -
Bruno & Bertha. Owners of the "Skank Pitt", a snake squezzin bar.
Got to love the boil on her back...
Various folks sporting mutant powers.
Ookla, Thundarr, & Ariel.
Ariel works her magic from the... er... backside with a case of "cheek-leak"!
I have over 200 miniatures from various DreamBlade, HeroClix, HorrorClix, Aliens vs Predators, & MageKnight that I use to represent mutants and other horrors. And about as many zombies.
I'm currently working on Scooby Doo and the gang. And their "Mystery Machine" van. After that I going to do the LEFT 4 DEAD & LEFT 4 DEAD 2 characters.
All going to be used in my up coming SW Monster Hunter International game.
Hope you all enjoyed. _________________

Looks good, many familiar -looking minis there Too bad those SHIELD guys have white equipment and early ones have those horribly bright blue suits (that you've repainted). With different color scheme they'd work very good without any work.
I was just wondering how few overweight miniatures there are, especially normal ones - big bertha isn't quite normal Amanda Waller & Kingpin are healthy exceptions and the latest heroclix set had one a bit overweight sculpt. But I haven't found any good fat miniatures for my upcoming sword & sorcery game for example - of course there should be fat merchants or nobles! _________________

I have the same complaint about the lack of over weight miniatures. Would the HeroClix Blob do? You'd have to modify him a bit... clothes, etc...
I also grieve over the lack of children and infant zombie miniatures. _________________

HorrorClix has a few kids.
There's a Unique called "Pyromaniac" (Lab #91) - and I think I saw a variant of it called "Little Damien" (though I can't confirm that). Basically a little kid, hand outstretched, holding a stuffed animal, surrounded by flames.
I've gotten a couple in grab-bag deals, and removed the flames (using them elsewhere for special effects), using the figure for a kid zombie for my WOTD campaign.
There's also a mini called "Monster Patrol" (Freakshow #28/29) or "Bailey & Jameson" (Freakshow #30) that has two child minis on it. One is a boy kneeling, with a slingshot, while the other is a girl on rollerskates doing a high-kick. Some repair is required to separate them and fill in the gaps where there was a tab connecting the two figures on the stand. Otherwise, it helped supply me with a number of kid minis for WOTD (though having so many little kids doing high-kicks prompted jokes about them all being rescued from ballet class, etc., from the players).
I've also got so many of #7/8/9 "Wolf Boy / Jak-Jak the Wolf Boy" from the Freakshow set that I've thought of trying to convert it so I'd have some more little kid minis (or perhaps little-kid zombies), but I'd have to do some head-swaps and a repaint.

With the popularity of the WOTD campaign (I have all three & waiting for number four) you would think that someone would put out an infant zombie.
Zombies... it's not just for adults anymore. _________________

I actually have somewhere Blob half-way modified to a bartender, but he's also quite extreme case - very little slightly overweight cases there. But I guess I'll modifying Blob one day... _________________

I'm in the process of reworking the Blob and another Bertha into "Boomers", exploding zombies from Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2.
I like having a pick of unusual "heftiness" (?) & "age" in any sort of miniatures. But I'm not too sure miniature-making companies feel the same... or at least feel that their customers would feel the same.
I love Grubman's Erik the Mouse miniature from his Mistland game.

Some more fun with miniatures...
Most of these I used in another miniature game that was mostly Zombie Apocalypse. The players had fun when they recognized who the miniatures represented.
Taarna from the Heavy Metal movie.
The A-Team.
Batman & Robin.
Cherry Darling (from Grindhouse: Planet Terror movie) & Ash.
Doc Savage and some of his crew.
Duke Nukum beside his sporty truck.
Hellboy and gang
Patch (a zombie survivor) - reaction after I asked him if I could drive his ride.
The Phantom and his pet wolf, Devil, exit a New York cab.
Various Psionic individuals sporting their awesome powers.
The local sheriff.
Not sure who this albino, demon sword wielding, person is. He kept yelling, "Blood and souls for my Lord Arioch!!"
