I'm going to be running this, this weekend, as an introduction for my two sons to the workings of the Savage World system.
Kinda like a prelude to launching the 50 Fathoms campaign I have planned.
Anyone out there played this? How long did the 3 scenarios take to play?
Just trying to get a handle on how long to plan in the day and see if we are going to have enough time to do the SCOOBY DOO........F'TAGHN! adventure. _________________

Okay.
This game lasted about an hour and a half... mostly because everyone was unfamiliar with the rules.
Monumental Moments -
Black Powder Pete (played by my youngest son) was renamed Yellow Belly Pete because of he's... er... reluctance to close with the enemy.
Errol Enn (played by my girlfriend) attacked 3 Octopoids. Got a couple of Aces on the Fighting roll (defeating the minuses) AND on the damage roll!!! Killed all 3 of them. Then lead a charge against the Octopoid Warlocks to save the day.
The pirate crew almost turned on Yellow Belly Pete because he was a coward.
Everyone enjoyed the game and are looking forward to our 50 Fathoms game.
We're going to play a few more Showdown games (Dracula's Brides, Rumble in the Jungle, Bats) and some one-shot SW adventures (Scooby Doo meets Cthulhu) to familiarize ourselves more with the rules before running the 50F. _________________
Sounds like fun!
Were you playing as referee?
Or were you all playing on the same side?
What did you use for minis for the octopons or the paper models?
I'm trying to piece together some solo mechanics so my kids and I can pirate and plunder together.
My kids and I started a Showdown 50 Fathoms-ish campaign but its slow to get really going (mainly due to my mechanics tinkering).
